The night was pitch-black, the red moon hanging high.
It was once again time for some late-night gossip. The little black puffball eagerly opened the panel in her mind.
She was studying the cluster of green melons floating in her sea of consciousness, wondering which one to slice open, when something suddenly stirred in System Space.
"Lan Yue, the Enlightenment Tea Tree is looking for you. It seems to have something urgent," the system suddenly said.
Lan Yue froze. What urgent business could the Enlightenment Tea Tree possibly have? Wasn't it doing perfectly well in the space? All it did every day was sneak bites of Heaven and Earth treasures. It had visibly grown a whole size plumper than when she first planted it. Anyone who didn't know better would think it had been pumped full of hormones.
Knowing the reason made Lan Yue's heart ache. The Heaven and Earth treasures she had won at the Two-Regions Grand Competition, those she had gotten from the North Ridge Sacred Son, those she had swindled out of the black Teng Snake, and even some high-grade spiritual materials had all been swallowed by that glutton!
Still, Lan Yue had not let it fleece her without getting anything back. She had plucked a few leaves straight off the Enlightenment Tea Tree and left them with her companions before entering the Tower of the Abyss, making it easier for them to keep in touch.
Could one of her companions be trying to contact her through an Enlightenment Tea leaf?
Lan Yue's eyes lit up. She had never expected the Enlightenment Tea leaves to be so useful. Even across such a vast distance, all the way into the Demon Realm, they could still communicate!
