"Where am I?"
Zhang Yang was a little dazed. He wanted to open his eyes, but he couldn't.
Wait, do I even have eyes?
He sensed emptiness and darkness all around him. He wanted to move but couldn't, though his body seemed to be spinning nonstop.
Boom!
With a tremendous crash, Zhang Yang felt himself hurled into the distance like a ball, spinning through space at incredible speed.
He had no idea how much time passed. It might have been a second, or it might have been ages.
At last, Zhang Yang regained consciousness and woke up. As he sensed everything around him, understanding struck him in an instant.
"I transmigrated... into a planet?"
Zhang Yang was dumbfounded. This was far too bizarre a thing to transmigrate into. Was that even an option?
Before he could think any further, a stream of information slowly unfolded deep within his consciousness.
Planetary consciousness successfully awakened. Please name your planet.
Zhang Yang was overjoyed. "The essential transmigration cheat-a system?"
He called out several times but received no response. Zhang Yang felt a frown coming on. "The system isn't intelligent?"
He gave a direct order. "Name the planet Blue Star."
Naming successful. Data uploaded. Star Lord, your location is: Laniakea Supercluster-Virgo Cluster-Local Group-Milky Way-Very Good Belt-Local Interstellar Cloud-Oort Cloud. Your planet's designation is M3.1415926-Blue Star. You are now a planet, as well as a Star Lord. You have the right to nurture, cultivate, and guide life. All your power comes from your Starfolk. Strive to develop your planet. In a distant galaxy, we await your arrival. -Issued by the Cosmic Elders Council.
The information continued to unfold slowly, and Zhang Yang gradually came to understand.
He had transmigrated into a planet. Only Star Lords who had awakened a planetary consciousness could receive this automated message.
It was very much like a beginner's tutorial in the games of his previous life.
This universe was ruled by the Cosmic Elders Council, but it was very, very far from his location. He was in a remote corner of the universe-even a remote corner of the Oort Cloud.
Zhang Yang could manage, develop, and shape his own planet. He was its creator, and the Starfolk he created would be the source of his power.
Planets had levels. The higher their level, the larger they became, the more energy they absorbed, and the greater their growth and potential.
Creating species required energy points, which came from two sources.
First, a planet could absorb the free-floating energy in the universe at a rate of one point every ten thousand years.
Second, it could devour other planets, plundering all their resources, species, and energy.
The Cosmic Elders Council had provided him with some race templates so that new Star Lords wouldn't waste time with no idea where to begin.
After sorting through all the information, Zhang Yang sensed his planet. His will swept across it, and he breathed a mental sigh of relief.
The major races provided by the Cosmic Elders Council included many he had heard of in his previous life, such as the Dragon Race, Beast Race, the Elf Race, the undead, and so on.
Each major race also had countless smaller offshoots.
For some reason, however, there was no Human Race template.
Zhang Yang pondered for a moment before deciding to choose the Human Race after all.
Fortunately, his earlier sweep with his will had revealed ice and land on his planet.
With ice and land, he had one of the conditions necessary for Human Race life to emerge.
However, there was no sun, oxygen was very scarce, and the planet was cold.
After pondering for a long time, Zhang Yang could find no good solution. He could only use his starting energy points to create a God-Made Sun.
Every planet started with 1,000 energy points. This energy could be used to create anything, with the cost varying according to the species being created.
Every starting planet had a diameter of 2,000 kilometers. Zhang Yang began calculating how many energy points he would need to raise Blue Star's temperature into a reasonable range.
Soon, under the control of Zhang Yang's consciousness, a radiant God-Made Sun appeared in the sky. As he kept pouring energy points into it, its radiance grew brighter and brighter.
Watching his energy points drain away pained him a little. Before long, the God-Made Sun hung in the sky.
Zhang Yang controlled it with his mind, and the sun slowly began revolving around Blue Star.
The sun was tiny. Drawing on the astronomical knowledge he had acquired in his previous life, he finally finished configuring it.
As he watched the sun slowly revolve, a surge of pride rose within Zhang Yang.
The loss of 300 energy points made Zhang Yang's heart ache a little, too. No, not his heart—his globe.
But there was no alternative. Without light, carbon-based life could not emerge.
Nor was the sun he had created eternal. It constantly consumed energy and would need a top-up every million years.
Under the sun's rays, light appeared on Blue Star for the first time. Its dazzling brilliance drove away the darkness, and Blue Star's temperature slowly began to rise.
What followed would require a long wait, so Zhang Yang spent energy points to accelerate time.
Since he absorbed one energy point every ten thousand years, choosing tenfold time acceleration would keep his energy balance exactly steady.
According to the information left by the Cosmic Elders Council, creating species required vast stretches of time, along with objective conditions, the creator's choices, and other factors.
No matter which race he created, he would need to modify the environment accordingly.
Even the lowest form of intelligent life could not be created outright with a mere thousand energy points. It required the accumulation of vast stretches of time.
Bored, Zhang Yang watched the sun rise, set, rise, and set, slowly drifting into sleep.
As a planet, even a newly formed one, he had a lifespan of a hundred million years.
As its level rose and the planet grew larger, its lifespan would increase as well.
A Planet Lord's concern was never running out of lifespan, but the covetous eyes of other Planet Lords and the dangers lurking in space.
According to the encyclopedic guide left by the Cosmic Elders Council, the universe was fraught with danger.
There were hazardous elements, radiation, storms, meteor impacts, runaway gravity, and more.
Even though Planet Lords from the upper domains sent people down to clear them away from time to time, things remained extremely dangerous.
Moreover, those higher-tier Planet Lords were themselves one of the hazards.
Even with the Cosmic Elders Council's strict rules, there were always a few lawless maniacs unwilling to obey them.
Time flowed at ten times its normal speed. The ice on Blue Star slowly melted into water, which rose into the air, giving the sky clouds, an atmosphere, and more.
By the time Zhang Yang awoke, a hundred thousand years had passed on Blue Star.
His lifespan corresponded to the passage of time, making it easy to calculate, but weren't energy points far too difficult to obtain?
Looking at his 700 energy points, Zhang Yang thought, Is this meant to encourage Star Lords to wage war on each other?
Something isn't right. Don't all these galaxies communicate with one another?
Then how does the Cosmic Elders Council rule this immense universe?
Zhang Yang retrieved the materials left by the Cosmic Elders Council and read through the information several more times, but still found no way to advance.
Taking the attitude that a road would appear when the cart reached the mountain, and the boat would straighten itself when it reached the bridge, he decided not to fret over it all.
Zhang Yang used his will to sense Blue Star after a hundred thousand years.
