| Stage / Realm / Level | Chapter | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Second-Level Civilization — confirmed | 47 | Blue Star is already a second-level civilization. Zhang Yang deliberately delays further advancement to accumulate strength and resources. |
| Blue Star Level 4 — planetary upgrade | 58 | Expands Blue Star’s diameter to 15,000 kilometers and creates the Profound Yellow, Star, and Nine Nether continents. This is a planetary upgrade, not Fourth-Level Star Lord advancement. |
| Eighth Star Ring | 81 | Advances from the Tenth Ring after twenty-two consecutive victories over more than two centuries. |
| Fifth Star Ring — confirmed | 108 | Blue Star has reached the Fifth Ring; Zhang Yang prepares to advance again after raising its victory count to seventy-four. |

| Lord of the Universe — confirmed | 279 | Privately uses universe-lord powers while publicly presenting himself as humanity’s leader. The supplied passages do not describe the transition itself. |
Background / History
Life on Earth
The side story depicts Zhang Yang working alongside his friend Ying Zheng as a property salesman. Both possess systems: Ying Zheng earns half of Zhang Yang’s mission reward by assisting him, while Zhang Yang’s own reward is doubled. Zhang Yang knows about the arrangement and willingly lets his friend benefit 295.
They later become wealthy, famous success lecturers and continue completing missions to investigate their systems. An unseen observer selects Zhang Yang, and the announced final reward coincides with a meteor striking both men. Gu Xing Lei is also reported killed in the disaster. Zhang Yang subsequently becomes conscious in a newly formed small universe, apparently without a body or eyes 295.
In the main narrative, Zhang Yang remembers being human and knowing Earth’s history but initially cannot recall his former identity. He describes having transmigrated and become a planet three million years before his promise to rescue Quark 63 167.
Humanity’s Inheritance
Zhang Yang develops humanity on Blue Star, but later discovers that Pangu was its original creator. Pangu created the Human Race, simulated its civilization, and passed that inheritance to him 256.
Ancestor Yang Mei explains that Zhang Yang’s hazy memories contain cultivation systems previously deduced for humanity by the Demon Gods. Enlightenment Tea and visions of the universe’s birth, the Demon Gods’ descent, and Earth’s evolution help make that inheritance usable 180.
After meeting Gu Xing Lei, Zhang Yang suspects their nearly simultaneous attempts to create humanity produced a system anomaly: he became humanity’s inheritor, while Gu retained Earth memories but was prevented from creating the already-existing race. This remains Zhang Yang’s interpretation of their circumstances 262.
Appearance
- Virtual body: Can manifest on the Starry Sky Virtual Platform, though the body lacks physical sensation 3.
- Cloud manifestation: Appears through white clouds to avoid spending scarce Energy Points 26.
- Giant manifestations: Appears as a giant above humanity when granting Beast Tamer, and as a colossal White Giant during the confrontation with the Kuafu Lineage 9 177.
- Human form: Takes human form when visiting the Great Wall 201.
- Will projection: Can appear remotely through manifested will; such projections can be intangible 114 265.
Personality
Zhang Yang is cautious about advancement and prefers strength accumulated in reserve to a prestigious rank gained too early. He delays civilization upgrades, maintains hidden combat reserves, and considers escape routes before committing to danger. His hesitation over rescuing Quark comes from the possibility of placing Blue Star’s entire population at risk 47 63 104.
His caution coexists with gratitude and personal loyalty. He ultimately promises to save Quark despite his fears, later returns financial support many times over, and refuses to postpone the rescue merely to collect additional rewards. Friendship matters to him beyond material advantage 63 144 176.
He is an aggressive bargainer and practiced manipulator. His methods include exploiting resource-transfer loopholes, bluffing about his strength, concealing dangerous secret-realm conditions in fine print, and recording an intoxicated ruler’s promise. His willingness to appear shameless is explicit: tangible benefits matter more to him than dignity 58 64 126 171 265.
Zhang Yang believes hardship and competition are necessary for progress. This can make him dangerously interventionist: his engineered Velociraptor crisis forces two talented youths to advance but also kills the animal’s handler. Later, he increasingly emphasizes belonging, gratitude, and shared identity because contracts alone cannot secure lasting loyalty 65 238.
His growing status also isolates him. Quark’s increasing formality leaves an invisible distance between them, making his reunion with fellow Earth-born transmigrator Gu Xing Lei unusually joyful. Even as a universe’s master, he remains troubled by unanswered questions about his own origin 262 292.
