The Handsome Monkey King traveled east, crossing mountains and ridges and suffering no shortage of bullying along the way.
Though he was immensely strong, he knew no cultivation arts and had no technique whatsoever.
The journey had left his heart pounding with fright. Just as he was about to rest, he spotted a monkey lying in the distance and clung to a tree to watch curiously.
The monkey stood over twenty meters tall. Lying on the ground, he looked like a great mountain.
Farther away, a Titanoboa dozens of meters long was quietly slithering closer, apparently heading for the monkey.
Watching the enormous monster draw nearer, the Handsome Monkey King's face filled with fear. Even so, he grabbed some bananas from the tree and hurled them at the giant monkey, shouting, "Hey, big ape! Wake up! Stop sleeping! Something's coming!"
Several bunches of bananas struck the big ape, yet he remained completely oblivious, snoring away. As the monster drew closer, the Handsome Monkey King scratched his ears and cheeks in desperation before finally flipping down from the tree.
The Handsome Monkey King approached the big ape's face. Seeing him still sound asleep, he angrily lashed out at his face with his paws. "Stop sleeping! You're going to die! Wake up! There's a monster coming! Keep sleeping, and I'm running!"
The approaching monster flicked its tongue, its scales sending a chill through him. The Handsome Monkey King picked up several stones, scrambled into a tree, and hurled them at it.
Seeing a wild monkey dare to throw stones at it, the Titanoboa gathered a mouthful of pitch-black energy and fired it at him with tremendous speed.
The Handsome Monkey King squealed in fright, but his movements were remarkably nimble. He quickly scrambled across several other trees and managed to dodge it.
