Inside the Super Plasma Cannon base on Kasor Star, three sergeant majors strode into the main control room carrying documents.
"Who's in charge here?"
The base commander studied their uniforms and spotted the twin-serpent badges on their chests, marking them as members of the Kelami Empire's upper ranks.
The commander hurried forward and saluted respectfully. "Greetings, officers. I'm the base commander, Jacks."
After the three returned his salute, the tall, thin man in the middle handed Jacks a stack of documents and said sternly, "The princess has ordered you to target the Bido Star flagship. You have five minutes to complete the mission."
Jacks leafed through the documents and asked in surprise, "Activating the Super Plasma Cannon requires authorization from two commanders. This doesn't comply with regulations."
The tall, thin man sneered. "You have four minutes left. We've already handed you the documents bearing the princess's direct authorization. What you do next is beyond my authority."
Although Jacks had his doubts, he couldn't just contact Princess Domina directly. Even if he wanted to, he would have to be able to reach her first.
After checking the three men's identities and documents and finding nothing wrong, he had no choice but to carry out the order.
The entire control room sprang into action. The plasma cannon on Kasor Star began charging as it took aim at the Bido flagship.
"Commander Jacks, you have one minute left." As soon as the tall, thin man finished speaking, the two men behind him drew their weapons.
Now Jacks panicked. One minute wasn't nearly enough. If he'd known, he wouldn't have wasted time earlier. From the looks of it, those two really intended to kill him if he failed to fire.
Princess Domina was
