When Zhang Fan stepped off the welcoming ship, councilors of all different appearances bowed to him from both sides, leaving him a little at a loss.
As he entered the council hall, a beautiful blue-skinned woman with a huge feeler growing from the back of her head came up to greet him.
"Hello, Overlord. I am your adjutant, Moli from Aka Star. I will handle all your arrangements within the council."
Zhang Fan had not expected the council to be so thoughtful. They had even assigned him a secretary.
"So what are we doing now?"
Moli glanced at the stone tablet in her hands. "The first item on the agenda is your inauguration ceremony, Overlord."
Under Moli's guidance, Zhang Fan was led into a simply furnished room with a distinctly futuristic feel.
Two Mechanical Attendants immediately approached as soon as they saw Zhang Fan arrive.
Moli introduced them. "They will take care of your attire and grooming, Overlord."
Zhang Fan stopped them at once. "Attire? We of the Insect Race come with our own carapaces. We don't need any of this dressing up."
Moli looked troubled. "But your current appearance doesn't conform to the council's aesthetic standards, Overlord."
Zhang Fan sneered. "Then have them change their standards. Skip this step and move on to the next."
Although Moli was reluctant, Zhang Fan's words were not open to argument. She could only shake her head and comply.
Next, she prepared a speech for Zhang Fan's inauguration ceremony. He took one look at it and felt a headache coming on.
"I'll write my own speech."
Having been turned down by Zhang Fan again, Moli was clearly unhappy. But she was only a secretary. She wanted to persuade him, yet after glancing at him, she chose to remain silent.
