The moment Zhang Fan said he wanted the Council chairman's position, Andre turned his gaze to Geyamidos.
Geyamidos could only look to Hegli, who snapped at Zhang Fan with barely restrained anger, "Kid, don't push your luck. There's a limit to how much you can bully my brother."
"What? If you're not happy, we can keep fighting. This Interstellar Trade Alliance station doesn't have much reason to exist anymore anyway."
Zhang Fan smiled at the furious Hegli. "The Eastern Realm should be busy dealing with the Ink Race's warships right now. Yet you still have time to wander around here?"
"You... how do you know?"
Zhang Fan smiled. "The Ink Race's commanders may not be very bright, but their warships rival mine in both quantity and quality. Did you think I wouldn't keep an eye on their movements?"
Hegli shook his head. "Brother, neither of us should have interfered in the Trading Company's affairs in the first place. We only got involved out of loyalty to our friends. Do me a favor and take another step back. Wouldn't it be better to take over an established Trading Company?"
Zhang Fan shook his head. "I'm the one with the better odds of winning here, aren't I? I don't want to make things difficult for you, especially since you have important matters to attend to. Why don't you take a step back and settle for vice chairman?"
Everyone's eyes returned to Geyamidos. What else could he say? Hegli had made his position fairly clear. If Geyamidos refused, Hegli probably wouldn't keep sticking his neck out for him.
Geyamidos nodded helplessly. "Fine. The Trading Company's chairmanship should go to the most capable person anyway. I'm willing to step aside."
Zhang Fan laughed heartily. "Isn't that much better? A peaceful resolution. Let's move on
