Buffett's words raised something Zhang Fan had never considered. He believed the Insect Race's biological technology could offer humanity tremendous help.
But he had never thought about how a fledgling race should develop. To Zhang Fan, helping Earthlings avoid unnecessary detours seemed like a good thing.
Buffett, however, said, "Humanity has only just entered the age of space colonization. If we form an alliance, once they learn how powerful the Insect Race is, ambition will inevitably take root. When humanity attacks other galaxies to expand its territory, will you help them or not, Overlord?"
That question stumped Zhang Fan. Before, he had only thought about humanity's survival. Now that its survival was assured for the time being, he had no idea what its future development would look like.
If humanity began conquering the universe, would he treat it as a fledgling race and restrict its expansion, or help it rule the universe?
Only after pondering for a long time did Zhang Fan say, "For now, I suppose I still hope for peaceful development. But I also want humanity to understand the terrors of the universe, rather than blindly deciding to expand."
Hu Baili raised another question. "If you intend to ally with humanity, Overlord, what identity will you present yourself under? As the Insect Race Overlord, or as a human?"
Zhang Fan looked at his own body, then at the Insect Race warriors around him, and smiled. "I don't count as human anymore, do I? I'll go as the Insect Race Overlord."
Noya said, "Overlord, you're humanity's god. You could even rule over them all. Why?"
Zhang Fan shook his head. "Little one, if I really wanted to rule over them all, would I need to go to all this trouble?"
Nexis pulled Noya aside and bowed to Zhang Fan.
