Under Charm Spider's command, the Insect Race army sent vast numbers of Cheetahs and Explosive Bugs into the vanguard. The Overlord Beasts' Ice Blue Dragon cannons blasted at the enemy formation, while Six-Eyes and Venom Bees launched surprise attacks from the air.
Standing atop a Super Six-Eye, Charm Spider commanded, "Overlord Beasts, unleash your Ice Blue Dragon cannons and Superenergy Cannons at full power! Blast me an opening!"
Hundreds of Ice Blue Dragon cannon rounds streaked toward the Half-Giants' defensive formation, trailing frost. The Half-Giant General roared, "Stay calm! Hold formation!"
Just as the Ice Blue Dragon cannon rounds were about to strike the Half-Giants, several curtains of light suddenly enveloped them all.
A thunderous explosion shook the Half-Giants' massive shields with its shock waves, and even the earth seemed to tremble. The Ice Blue Dragon cannons had inflicted no damage on them.
The human mages constantly channeled their mana into the curtains of light above the Half-Giants. Suddenly, they sensed a powerful force trying to break through.
The Overlord Beasts' Super Cannons bombarded the curtains of light relentlessly. Several mages had already exhausted their mana. Whenever one collapsed, another immediately took their place.
Without breaking through the curtains of light, sending the Cheetah vanguard forward would be pointless. It would only add to their casualties.
Charm Spider turned and asked, "Are the Teleportation Bugs below ready?"
"General, they're ready, but using them before we breach those defenses will expose them immediately. Then the Teleportation Bugs will become their primary targets."
"Have the Venom Bees and Six-Eyes support the attack. We must break through that defensive wall!"
Gerard, commander of the Flame Empire's armed forces, stood atop the high wall and gazed at the distant Insect Race army. "Their attacks follow a definite strategy. Do they have a commander? We
