Zhang Fan had originally only wanted to expand the Insect Race's army. Accepting their surrender had merely served his strategic needs; he had never expected Charlie to try to assassinate him.
Charlie's actions had led to Kade Star and all its surrounding colony planets being devoured by the Insect Race. Now, Charlie was the only person left on Kade Star.
Shusha walked slowly up to Zhang Fan and said, "We've finished studying Kade Star's S-Class Dreadnought. It uses nuclear fusion energy. Though tremendously powerful, it isn't suitable for our Insect Race."
"I finally got to see an S-Class warship, and I can't even put it to use. How frustrating."
Shusha hurriedly said, "There's no need to be frustrated, Overlord. Our research into Kade biotechnology has revealed ways to apply nuclear fusion energy to living organisms. We're currently breeding Insect Race units capable of using it."
"Hmm, all right. At least this trip wasn't wasted. Secure our foothold here for now and turn all of Kade and the surrounding colonial systems into a forward base for our push north. I have a feeling Domina will hear about this soon."
The Insect Race hatched two {Fusion Dragon Cannon Bugs} on the planets Dorne and Duo Na. These enormous creatures used nuclear fusion to generate devastating annihilation dragon cannon blasts, powerful enough to destroy a white dwarf. However, they charged too slowly and could not move, so they could only serve as defenses.
The spoils from invading Kade Star had roughly doubled the Insect Race's army, but Zhang Fan was not satisfied with its current state. After all, he had experienced Minerva's power firsthand...
Though they shared a common origin, the Dragon Race seemed more like enemies than friends. To Zhang Fan, they were merely using him to break the Judgment Dragon's seal.
