As part of his training, Lin Ke could not stay with Jingang all the time.
For one thing, as a Golden Crow, Jingang carried at least some bloodline pressure within his body.
That bloodline pressure could affect creatures of lower standing.
Of course, Jingang could suppress it, but that would be exhausting!
It was better to let Jingang cultivate over by the mountain.
If Jingang made a breakthrough, Lin Ke would benefit too.
"All right, let me see whether these mudskippers have any treasures on them."
Lin Ke reached the mountainside, where the corpses of several mudskippers still lay.
He hurried over to examine them.
Demon Beasts ran rampant throughout the Great Wei Sacred Dynasty. There was no such thing as a Demon Beast protection law.
As a result, many hunters and breeders captured Demon Beasts in various regions.
Even the Demon Bureau under the Demon Department had dedicated Demon Slayers who traveled the land, clearing out particularly dangerous Demon Beasts or herds.
And this work was neither meaningless nor without reward.
The reward was the Demon Beasts' bodies!
Both Artifact Refining masters and pill refiners could refine Demon Beast bodies into corresponding treasures.
Dragon-tooth daggers and phoenix-tail feather fans, for instance, were refined from things like dragon teeth and phoenix tail feathers.
An ordinary dragon tooth could be refined into a treasure-grade dragon-tooth dagger,
while a treasure-grade one could be refined into a secret treasure-grade dagger.
And so on. That was the allure of Artifact Refining.
Pill refinement worked much the same way.
By adding various ordinary medicinal herbs, one could refine treasure-grade pills, and in greater quantities, too.
Thus, with the Daoist School's arts of pill and Artifact Refining, all sorts of raw materials found more and more uses.
However, pill refining and Artifact Refining had their limits.
