"In what we call the Beast-Taming Path, 'beast' comes first, and 'taming' second. Thus, to explain the Beast-Taming Path, we must first understand what constitutes a 'beast' and what constitutes 'taming.'"
"Now, I shall broadly divide the word 'beast' into the following categories..."
Lin Ke spoke in a clear, ringing voice. Behind him, the Plum Blossom Tree swayed gently in the breeze, its leaves rustling.
Before him, a man several hundred years old bent over a desk, writing at a furious pace and recording everything he said.
What was Lin Ke talking about?
The knowledge he had acquired in his previous life!
It was just like Pokémon.
All the professions in that world had their own classifications.
Some people wanted to be trainers, some wanted to be breeders, and some wanted to be coordinators...
In short, it was a world that had developed the Beast-Taming Path to its utmost limits.
And the Beast-Taming Path had a great many uses.
It was not merely about fighting and killing.
For example, ants could be raised in farmland to eliminate pests, while bees could be kept in orchards to collect nectar and pollinate flowers.
There were even creatures raised specifically for food, for labor, and so on.
Of course, those were applications of Beast Mastery.
But what came before Beast Mastery?
Selecting stock, breeding, and rearing-each direction could branch into countless methods.
Stock selection alone involved many approaches. Mendel's Pea Hybridization Experiment and hybrid rice, for instance, were classic examples of breeding and selection.
After all, Beast Mastery did not encompass only "beasts." The path of beasts also included all manner of plants, insects, spirit creatures, and more.
And so, through Lin Ke's lengthy discourse, the Beast-Taming Path was gradually laid out.
Once he had finished discussing beasts, he moved on to taming.
