Then he cupped his hands again. "My calligraphic style is still immature and cannot yet evoke a manifestation. But if I perfect it in the future, the writing you receive may also become more wondrous."

Old Wu was quite curious about Lin Ke's writing. He cupped his hands as well. "Go ahead and write, Young Master Chen. I'll be sure to have your calligraphy mounted."
He left himself some room, saying only that he would have it mounted, not whether he would hang it in the main hall or the kitchen. Presumably, that would depend on how good Lin Ke's writing was.
Lin Ke understood. He could hardly expect the man to mount a sheet of terrible handwriting, could he? It would be generous enough not to demand his money back.
Without further hesitation, he sat down and settled his mind and breath.
One could imitate the shape of Yan Zhenqing's calligraphy, but capturing its bones was difficult.
