The generals were delighted. The side setting up the formation held the initiative. Wen Zhong pondered for a moment. "I fear Jiang Ziya has no intention of competing with us in a Formation Duel in the usual fashion. An ordinary military formation certainly won't trouble him. Either Wei Hu or Tu Xingsun could break one easily. We will probably have to employ some sorcery."

There were three types of formations: ordinary military formations that any general could deploy, extraordinary formations requiring knowledge of sorcery and alignment with heaven and earth, and magic formations personally laid by accomplished cultivators.
