Satisfied to see Shen Lian fall silent, Chu Yilan said casually, "There's food in the fridge."
He actually didn't need to eat. Perhaps it had something to do with time and space; in any case, Chu Yilan felt neither hunger nor fatigue.
He wandered through the apartment, picking up the traces Shen Lian had left behind.
"Was today tiring?" Chu Yilan asked.
Right now, Shen Lian didn't want to dwell on anything else. He just wanted to have a proper chat with Chu Yilan.
"Yeah." As he said it, profound exhaustion spilled into his expression, something Shen Lian had never shown on camera or in front of anyone else.
He was always polished, sharp, and unstoppable, but in the dead of night, Shen Lian could hear a sigh in his mind. It was the alarm his soul sounded when it had been pushed to its limit.
A lot of the time, Shen Lian felt there wasn't much point to any of it.
Chu Yilan gazed at Shen Lian without speaking.
Shen Lian turned his head, caught the look on the man's face, and immediately grinned. "Your heart aching for me?"
Chu Yilan nodded.
Ever since he had met Shen Lian, the man had been bold and passionate, acting as though he never noticed whenever Chu Yilan gave him the cold shoulder or pushed him away. Back then, Chu Yilan had always wondered how full of life someone had to be inside to be so fearless. Only now did he understand that Shen Lian wasn't really like that.
Without him around, Shen Lian's life had little flavor, either.
"Then how about giving me a massage?" Shen Lian asked softly.
That was nothing to Chu Yilan. Since Shen Lian had come into his life, he had taught himself all sorts of things.
