Shen Lian was still groggy and had no idea why Chu Yilan's eyes were so bright.
"Did you have a dream?" he asked casually.
To his surprise, Chu Yilan nodded seriously. "Yeah."
Shen Lian asked, "What did you dream about?"
"You."
That startled Shen Lian wide awake. With an amused snort, he threw back the covers and got out of bed.
Watching the young man's retreating back, Chu Yilan leaned against the headboard and smiled. "So that's what you used to be like, Teacher Shen."
Shen Lian turned his head. "Like what?"
"A smile on your face and frost in your eyes. You could talk to anyone, but you kept everyone at a distance. When you told me you were a superstar at the very top, I didn't really grasp it. But seeing how those big shots fawned over you... were you involved in more than just showbiz, Teacher Shen?"
Chu Yilan's voice was soft and enigmatic, while Shen Lian grew increasingly unnerved as he listened. Even if the man was making it all up, he had come remarkably close to the truth. And from his expression, it was as though he had seen it for himself.
Shen Lian scratched his head. "You imagined all that?"
Chu Yilan said, "I told you, I dreamed it."
When Shen Lian pressed him, Chu Yilan refused to say any more.
Shen Lian found it a little uncanny.
After breakfast, Chu Yilan was in no hurry, while Shen Lian had a shoot to get to.
Today's shoot was at Xingkai. As luck would have it, Chen Mu was there too, and their studios weren't far apart.
