It was clearly Doctor Shen's birthday, yet somehow Tao Zhiyan, Feng Ze, and Xiao Yu had become the stars of the show.
Doctor Shen was happy to be left alone, though. He cut himself a small slice of cake, then took a fork in his left hand and a knife in his right, dissecting the cake as he shoveled it into his mouth.
He was thoroughly enjoying himself.
He paid those three no attention whatsoever.
"Oh," Xiao Yu said, glancing at Tao Zhiyan. "Does Mr. Tao not allow Ze to add anyone else?"
He smiled, his tone a little odd. "You really don't have much confidence in yourself, do you, Mr. Tao?"
Everyone drew in a sharp breath.
Xiao Yu really had some nerve.
Making snide remarks right to someone's face?!
What if he actually pissed Tao Zhiyan off?
The doctor sitting in the farthest corner couldn't take it anymore. He discreetly tapped Doctor Shen and carefully chose his words. "Um... aren't you going to do something? We can't afford to offend either the Feng Family or the Xiao family."
Doctor Shen glanced at them and said, "Have faith in Feng Ze. He's a dumbass."

Xiao Yu explained with a smile, "I only wanted Ze's contact information so we could talk about work."
"Keeping him on such a tight leash is a little paranoid, Mr. Tao."
His words were unpleasant, but this level of provocation really wasn't enough to get under Tao Zhiyan's skin.
The young man swirled the glass in his hand. Before he could decide how to respond, he sensed that something was off with the man beside him.
Tao Zhiyan turned and saw Feng Ze's brows drawn together slightly. He looked on the verge of losing his patience, his expression grim.
