Feng Ze was about to speak when Tao Zhiyan suddenly asked, "Do you not want to tell me because you think I can't help you?"
"What?" Feng Ze almost thought he'd misheard.
Tao Zhiyan froze after saying it, too.
Why would I ask something like that?
Even more frustrated, Tao Zhiyan pressed his lips together and decided to drop the subject. "Nothing. I can't really put my finger on what's wrong, either."
He waved a hand. "Forget I asked."
With that, Tao Zhiyan tried to make his escape, but Feng Ze caught him and pulled him back.
Holding Tao Zhiyan by the arm and keeping him in place, Feng Ze lowered his eyes and asked, "Then can you tell what's wrong with me right now?"
His voice was very low.
It sent a pleasant tingle through him.
His gaze was deep, too.
And irresistibly alluring.
Another car roared past, its engine thrumming as it sped by and stirred up dust from the ground.
Then everything fell quiet again.
Tao Zhiyan leaned back slightly, resting the back of his head against the tree and putting a little distance between himself and Feng Ze.
His lips curved. "Right now, you probably really want to kiss me."
Feng Ze chuckled. "Mm. Correct."
Then he leaned down, drawing close to Tao Zhiyan.
His breathing grew slightly heavier as he gazed at him. Then one hand slid through Tao Zhiyan's black hair to cradle the back of his head, while the other wrapped around his waist.
Then he bent down and made contact.
Their lips met.
The kiss went from light to deep.
Perhaps it was because Tao Zhiyan had had a little alcohol earlier. Its flavor lingered between their lips and tongues, making even each breath feel intoxicating.
Tao Zhiyan instinctively responded.
He looped
