When Lou Yunxiao first met A Ke, he had been single-mindedly bent on avenging his sect, spending most of every day cultivating.
Though he had grown close to A Ke, he had never asked much about his background.
Put simply, he had never truly tried to understand A Ke as a person.
He only knew that his junior brother came from considerable wealth, perhaps a gifted scion of some great secluded clan.
Later, A Ke had disguised himself as Mingxin and come from the Buddhist Order, wearing yet another face.
And now, A Ke said he had done all of this for him to repay a kindness from his mother.
But Lou Yunxiao knew nothing of the actual truth, where A Ke came from, or whether his family and relatives were still alive.
That left him with an overwhelming sense of insecurity.
He feared that one day, A Ke would truly decide to leave him.
Then he would have no idea where to begin looking, or where he could possibly find him.
"My home..."
Ning Ke pondered for half a second before his voice turned cold. "Is none of your business."
Lou Yunxiao stiffened.
The half day they had spent here had led him to believe their relationship had softened, but apparently that had only been his own illusion.
Now, those words from A Ke had sent everything right back to where it had begun.
Lou Yunxiao tightened his arms with crushing force, as though he wanted to press Ning Ke into his very body.
But when he heard Ning Ke grunt in pain, he loosened his hold.
His voice was hoarse as he asked, abjectly, "A Ke, do you really hate me that much?"
"What exactly did I do wrong? Can you tell me?"
