The unconscious Ning Ke had a dream.
He dreamed he had returned to the real world.
It was a hospital corridor filled with the smell of disinfectant.
He walked forward, somewhat dazed.
He passed patients' families, doctors, and nurses.
Not a single person noticed his presence.
Eventually, he stopped outside a ward.
He saw the words on the Electronic Display beside it.
Room 108 Ning Ke
He heard his younger sister Ning Xiao's voice from inside.
At first, it sounded unfamiliar, but after he listened a little longer, overwhelming emotion surged in his heart.
Anxiously, Ning Ke reached for the door handle, only for his hand to pass straight through it.
He furrowed his brows, stepped forward, and closed his eyes.
When he opened them again, he was inside the ward, just as he had expected.
He realized he must be in a spiritual state now. That was why no one could notice him, and why he could pass through the door.
His own body lay on the hospital bed, connected to a ventilator.
The wounds and bruises on this body had faded. Now he simply lay there quietly, as though asleep.
Ning Xiao sat beside his bed, talking to him.
"Brother, it's been a month since the explosion. Why haven't you woken up yet? Are you really going to keep sleeping like this... and abandon me?"
Over the past month, Ning Xiao had cried more times than she could count.
By now, she could barely keep her emotions under control.
"The doctors always say all your readings are normal and tell me to wait patiently..."
"But I've waited day after day, and you still haven't woken up."
"Where on earth have you gone?"
