Chapter 130
"These rockets... they really pack a punch..."
Home Alone slowly rose from the ground. He first glanced at the raging sea of fire before him, but the rolling heat scorched his cheeks. He backed away almost ten meters before he felt any better.
The detonation of a single rocket had blasted away half the front of the shield formation. How much damage would those thirty-five rockets that had flown out inflict on the enemy?
Home Alone scarcely dared imagine how many people had died out there.
Yet when Little Ghost skirted the blaze and stood at the edge of the position to look out, he discovered that things were not quite as he had imagined.
The rockets were powerful, but their accuracy seemed a little questionable. The thirty-five rockets had landed unevenly across a vast area. The farthest had flown at least two kilometers, while the closest...
Well, it had exploded right on the launcher. That counted as point-blank range.
A range of zero to two thousand meters, a damage radius of roughly five to fifty meters, and a blast wave accompanied by intense heat and sustained burning. This Unnamed Rocket was powerful, but dangerous to enemies and allies alike... a double-edged sword, really.
Because the wildly flying rockets had landed so unevenly and unpredictably, they had not inflicted all that much damage on the enemy. Of the thirty-five rockets launched, at most three to five had fallen among the enemy ranks.
Most had veered wildly before smashing into empty ground or detonating in midair, producing spectacular explosions.
Rather than saying the rockets had blasted the enemy into retreat, it was more accurate to say that the enemy had been frightened off by weapons they had never seen before.
The unknown was humanity's most primal fear.
