"These enemies... won't be easy to deal with!"
Little Knife stood on a large rock, looking down at the Bohemians gathered in a small clearing below the wooded slope.
With the help of the dim yellow sunlight and his elevated vantage point, Little Knife finally got a clear picture of his enemies' composition and numbers through his telescope.
Judging by their banners, there were around fifteen hundred Bohemians below, just enough for an infantry great square formation... The infantry great square formation was a unit of the Bohemian Army, formally designated an infantry battalion and serving as one of its combat units.
The pike square, anchored by spearmen and halberdiers, had twisted into a deformed centipede in the narrow clearing halfway up the mountain... Traveling merchants and caravans had probably cut down the trees here specifically to create somewhere convenient to rest.

The matchlock musketeers, who should have deployed in front of the pike formation or at its four corners, had instead gathered on a small hill to the left of the clearing.
The hill was not particularly high, rising only a dozen or so meters above the neighboring clearing, and there
