"What's this?" Ke Meng looked at the black desk lamp. Black rust stained its bulb filament, giving it a sinister air.
"This is the Size-Changing Lamp. It can enlarge things, return them to their original size, or make them smaller."
Director Lei touched the head of the black lamp, his eyes thoughtful. "Its side effect isn't particularly severe. Each use consumes some of the lamp's lifespan. The more you use it, the darker the filament gets. Once the filament turns completely black, it can no longer emit light. Replacing the bulb won't help, either. It becomes a useless lamp."
The bureau's policy on useless items was to keep them or give them away as souvenirs.
