Deacon Zhang had been darting through streets and alleys, and his sense of danger had begun to fade. But when he heard the roar of an aircraft in the distance, his anxiety surged uncontrollably again.

This was an unusual sign. Ke Meng or Bandaged Man had to have something capable of tracking Shadow Stream members. Otherwise, how had so many of their members been caught last time? How had Deacon Huo slipped up?
Knowing his death was imminent and unable to shake the sense of danger, he stopped running. He slipped straight into a sealed room, condensed all the shadow mass in his body, and prepared the final strike of his life.
The shadows on his body surged, all their substance transforming into ferocious tentacles. This was the end of the road for a Shadow Creature. He had heard that those who could no longer retain their sanity would become a mass of tentacle-shaped shadows.
He was a veteran of the Shadow Stream Organization, and he hovered between madness and sanity, occasionally sprouting strange tentacles.
