At sea.
The sea was fickle, its waves surging.
With Angel Wings attached and an Energy-Gathering Ring above his head, Ke Meng hovered motionless in the air in defiance of physics.
Director Lei, Director Wu, Di Ping, and the others were also out at sea, standing on a small warship that gave them somewhere to set their feet.
The warship was built for speed and rapid support, but today it would not take part in the fighting directly.
It merely provided a place to stand before the battle began. Once the fighting started, it would move farther away to avoid being sunk by the powerhouses' battle.
As an investigator tasked with drawing aggro, Di Ping naturally needed powerful protection.
Director Lei took a Sealed Item from his Storage Item, quickly unsealed it, and handed it to Di Ping.
Di Ping was wearing a red headscarf, but it was not a Special Item. It was an ordinary headscarf without supernatural powers, purely decorative.
"What does it do?" The item in Di Ping's hands was a long horn with wave patterns on its surface.
Director Lei explained, "This is a Special Item confiscated from a Disciple of the Door. It's called the Horn of the Sea."
The Horn of the Sea possessed the power to control the ocean. Ke Meng had experienced it once before in the World Behind the Door. It was terrifying, ranked somewhere between Level One and Level Zero.
It had not been designated Level Zero because it lacked the ability to rapidly destroy a continent's landmass.
"Good stuff!"
Di Ping exclaimed excitedly. This really was a fine item.
With this, he should have no trouble protecting himself.
He raised the horn high, faced the ocean, and blew hard.
"Wooo, wooo-wooo-wooo-wooo-"
The strange horn call spread into the distance,
