Thinking back to the Faceless Tentacle Monster he had seen in his dream, Ke Meng considered many possibilities.
If that tentacle monster was not particularly powerful, it could very well descend upon Blue Star through the Sacrifice Ritual.
At least most of the nodes on the Koi Continent were gone now, so nothing too serious should happen there. The other continents were another matter.
Some Investigation Bureaus were slow to react, so it was hard to say how many nodes they had cleared.
The Shadow Stream Organization had started the Sacrifice Ritual early, probably because it had noticed too many nodes being destroyed. Any further delay would have meant catastrophic losses.
There was nothing wrong with starting the ritual early, but that raised a question.
Could an incomplete ritual summon what they wanted?
That was almost impossible. How could an incomplete Summoning Array summon what they wanted?
With a plan this enormous, even one small mistake or omission would produce a massive discrepancy.
"They must have a backup plan." Ke Meng frowned and sank into thought.
Ke Meng knew no more about Summoning Arrays than anyone else, but when it came to the details of sacrifices, he knew more than many obscure experts.
Offering sacrifices to a god was a very serious matter. If even one point in the array failed to align, the discrepancy could grow without limit. Most likely, nothing would be summoned, though there was also a tiny chance of summoning some unknown entity.
Ke Meng and the others had not gone far from the node. After walking for a few minutes, they ran back to check the scene of the Sacrifice Ritual.
A faint beam of red light rose from the ruins, right where the bomb had exploded.
The red light was not bright. In fact,
