An illusory murmur suddenly sounded beside his ears in the void.
It drifted near and far, its direction impossible to determine, echoing directly inside Ke Meng's mind.
Ke Meng looked around. There was no one there, and he could not have seen anyone anyway. The void was too dark.
Ke Meng took out the Spectator's Melon. Eating its seeds could drop his presence to rock bottom, an ability similar to the Bandaged Man's zero presence. But the seeds had another function: they were unaffected by the void, making them the ideal item for crossing it.
However, the seeds were consumables. Once eaten, they were gone. Ke Meng's spirituality had not yet sounded an extreme danger alarm; all he felt at present was "danger."
Ke Meng did not listen closely to the murmurs in the void. As long as he did not think about them, analyze them, or accept guidance from an unknown being, he could most likely protect himself with reason...
