I Became a New Game Plus Boss was my best-performing book in the past four years.
It even made it onto Qidian's international platform. Ah, I'd never imagined it would be translated into English. That was just awesome! Its English title was "I Became the Ultimate Boss."
At its peak, it averaged 4,400 subscribers.
I just checked the average subscription count on my author dashboard, and it had dropped to 3,600. I expect it should go up by a few hundred now that the book is finished.
Over the past three months, I hadn't paid much attention to the subscription figures on my dashboard.
They would only disturb my peace of mind.
As long as I didn't look at those falling numbers, they couldn't affect my mindset, and I could keep writing as usual.
It wasn't until today that I checked the figures on my dashboard. They had fallen quite a bit, but I'd also managed to finish telling the story I had in mind. My original target was 1.5 to 2 million Chinese characters.
For this New Game Plus book, my original plan was an urban product-review arc and a game boss arc.
As you all saw, I also delivered on the promise in the synopsis: reviews and sacrifices in the early and middle stages, then a boss-focused story toward the end. The protagonist successfully attained godhood in the game and became a true New Game Plus Boss.
The part where the protagonist beat up players, as I'd envisioned, actually happened while he was leveling up. Later, I saw that some readers still wanted to see him fight players, so I simply had Nya take his place for that plot point.
After that, the power system became so ridiculously powerful that I felt there wasn't much left to write.
