Will-Bukelin had accepted a bounty to collect [Desert Crocodile] hides.
Tasks like this were uncommon at the Bounty Tower.
Delighted, he left Chaos City alone, planning to head to an oasis in search of his targets, [Desert Crocodiles]...
However...
Things did not go as planned.
Not long after leaving Chaos City, Will-Bukelin ran straight into Richardson, an Eighth Tier-One Level-no, now a Ninth Tier-One Level-mage!
He, too, had once been an important member of the Mountainbreaker Gang.
After the Evergreen Gang absorbed the Mountainbreaker Gang, he had naturally become one of the Evergreen Gang's genius mages.
There were no warm greetings at this reunion.
Instead, Richardson struck Will-Bukelin with a water spell, severely injuring him!
As Will-Bukelin trudged through the scorching desert, sheer determination was the only thing keeping him alive.
If not for his desire to avenge his father, Will-Bukelin would already have died in the desert.
After dragging him along to complete a bounty, Richardson took him to the oasis nearest Chaos City to complete Will-Bukelin's bounty.
"You filthy dog! Move faster!"
Richardson lashed Will-Bukelin with a long whip conjured from a water spell.
Walking ahead, Will-Bukelin had just entered the oasis. He grunted under the lash, stumbled a few steps, then kept moving...
"Do you want to live?"
This was the thirty-sixth time Richardson had asked Will-Bukelin that question.
Unfortunately, his question was once again met with silence.
Crack!
Furious, Richardson lashed Will-Bukelin with his whip...
Perhaps he finally could not hold on any longer. Will-Bukelin fell to the ground under the blow...
His eyes held only hatred, not fear.
"Tsk, tsk. You've really fallen on hard times, kid!"
Just as Will-Bukelin was waiting for death, he suddenly heard a familiar voice.
He turned his head with all his strength and saw a familiar figure emerge from the oasis...
"I'm going to live..." Will-Bukelin murmured as he watched An Kai approach, then slipped into unconsciousness with peace of mind...
"You?" Richardson recognized An Kai. He was a mage retained by the Mountainbreaker Gang.
From the looks of it, he knew that filthy dog, too?
To be safe, Richardson quickly pulled a detector from inside his clothes...
[First Tier-One Level]
Richardson laughed.
With such pathetic strength, he dared to uphold justice in the desert?
He sneered, "Do you want to die? You think you can meddle in my business?"
"Perfect. I haven't killed enough today. Now that you're here, you won't be leaving!"
It was no exaggeration to say that he could slaughter a whole group of [First Tier-One Level] mages with a flick of his hand!
Richardson raised his magical whip. This time, he would not hold back. He planned to whip Will-Bukelin to death, then do the same to An Kai.
Against small fry like these, Richardson felt that casting a second spell would show a lack of confidence in his own strength.
After watching Richardson's movements, An Kai knew he was another person who relied on a detector.
With a thought, he manifested a Freezing Spell in his hand.
This time, it took the form of a sharp spear over two meters long!
While Richardson stood stunned, An Kai hurled the spear from his hand!
The sharp spear, over two meters long and formed from the Freezing Spell, shot toward Richardson with a whoosh!
"What the fuck is that?!"
Richardson froze. What kind of magic was this? Why had he never seen it before?
Before Richardson could react, the spear, over two meters long, was already right in front of him!
Squelch!
It pierced straight through the arm with which Richardson held his whip...
Before the agony could hit, Richardson's eyes went wide!
Those damned detector-selling crooks!
Richardson barely had time to curse inwardly before a dense barrage of spears hurtled toward him!
The sounds of flesh being pierced rang out one after another...
Ten seconds later.
Under An Kai's control, the spears piercing Richardson's body turned into layers of ice, sealing the Ninth Tier-One Level water mage within a thick block of ice.
"So weak!"
After fighting Richardson, An Kai suddenly realized that his instant spellcasting was practically an attack from a higher dimension when he fought other mages.
He walked over and removed the Storage Ring from Richardson's severed hand, which had fallen to one side.
Then he approached the ice encasing Richardson and kicked it into the lake over twenty meters away.
After raising an enormous splash, it slowly sank to the bottom...
The Storage Ring contained six water-element Lower-grade Magic Stones, only two gold coins, and some spellbooks scattered haphazardly inside.
There was also a staff lying quietly within.
An Kai took it out...
[Water Staff: Lv8] [Quality: blank] [Requirements: Intelligence 5, level Lv8.] [Note: a basic staff suitable for water mages.]
An Kai lost interest after a single glance...
He put it into his one-cubic-meter Storage Ring, then took out the spellbooks and glanced through them. Most of the spells were useless to him.
Their learning requirements all exceeded Lv1...
Finally, he took out the Lower-grade Magic Stones and exchanged them for skill points.
[Skill points +6]
Remembering that he still had a [Typhon Giant] magic core in his Storage Ring, An Kai took that out as well...
Exchange! he commanded silently.
[Skill points +2]
"Two points? Not bad."
After sorting out his loot, An Kai came to the unconscious Will-Bukelin's side.
He waited quietly for Will-Bukelin to wake up on his own.
If he did not wake up, there was nothing An Kai could do.
He only knew how to kill. Saving people... he was neither a light mage nor a priest, so he did not know how.
Likewise, if Will-Bukelin failed to wake up, Sally Bukelin would die too.
That was because An Kai's means of trading with the Bounty Tower outside the city depended on Will-Bukelin.
If he died, the trade could not be completed.
It could be said that Sally Bukelin had only one path left.
He waited from dawn until dark.
An Kai's patience wore thinner little by little.
After the sky darkened, a sudden change came over Will-Bukelin.
His Seven-Colored Heart manifested once again, releasing waves of energy.
Under those waves, the injuries on Will-Bukelin's body slowly healed.
Color gradually returned to his face as well.
About ten minutes passed.
The Seven-Colored Heart returned to Will-Bukelin's body, and his eyes slowly opened...
The moment he opened his eyes, Will-Bukelin broke into a radiant smile. "Sir, thank you for saving me again!"
"If you really want to thank me, do something for me."
Will-Bukelin's expression stiffened. Did he need to repay him so soon?
He nodded and continued listening to An Kai.
"Go to the Bounty Tower and bring their trader here. I have an important bounty to turn in, but for certain reasons, I can't enter the city."
"Sir, how much is it worth?"
An Kai paused for a moment, then slowly said, "About as much as the Fifth Princess of the Bukelin Duchy... I'd say..."
"Huh?"
Thanks to Boqiu and Dream_like for the monthly tickets, and to Xuyang and Yueyue for the generous tips. Thank you for supporting this humble author ever since the book began!
Thanks for all your recommendation votes~
I'll keep it short. Once I've finished what I'm busy with in a few days, I'll definitely post extra chapters!
P.S. The protagonist isn't a blockhead who only knows how to kill. Everything he does is for resources.
