"Were there any Tier Two professionals at the auction?"
"Yes!"
"Would the people attending the auction bring lots of money?"
"Yes!"
"Then let me ask you: did the people in the desert deserve to die?"
Hanks hesitated a little. There was no doubt that the Desert Humans deserved to die. If you dragged ten Desert Humans out and killed them all, you wouldn't be wrongly accusing any of them.
His hesitation was because of An Kai...
When did this brat develop this habit? If you're going to kill someone, just do it. Why bother finding a reason?
Hanks grumbled inwardly, then continued bluntly, "Brat, just tell me how we're splitting the spoils. I'm in!"
An Kai considered it for a few seconds before slowly asking, "Will you be fighting?"
"I'm old, I'm old. That doesn't matter. Let's leave these old bones out of it."
An Kai said nothing to that, merely continuing, "In that case, you get ten percent, and I get ninety."
"Bring them out of the city and leave the rest to me. Of course, they have to be below Tier Three. If they're above Tier Three, I won't help you!"
Hanks nodded, then shook his head. "I have no problem bringing them out, but I have a problem with the split. I want thirty percent!"
"Fine! It's a deal!"
Hanks left, humming a tune.
Watching Hanks leave, An Kai was very satisfied with the split. His bottom line had been fifty-fifty.
Yet that old bastard Hanks had only asked for thirty percent...
As for his scheme with Hanks, An Kai had some confidence in it.
The Puppeteer he had just killed had been at Tier Two, sixth stage!
Without using his [Brute Force Staff], a single Fireball had almost finished off the [Puppeteer]...
