On second thought, though, Hanks could understand.
After all, An Kai had been born in Nameless Town on the edge of the Desert. It was only natural that his knowledge was limited.
Hanks only knew these things because of his childhood experiences. Otherwise, like most people in the Desert, he would have thought the few surrounding countries were the center of the world.

Seemingly noticing An Kai's confusion, Hanks continued, "According to legend, the Central Continent is the punishment the gods brought down upon us!"
An Kai fell silent at that rather melodramatic explanation.
Still, Hanks's words matched An Kai's memories from his previous life. This world really did have... gods.
