Chen Mu and Wei'a exchanged a glance, instantly understanding each other. They walked for about a minute before faint voices reached them from up ahead. Although Chen Mu had already been certain, he still could not help giving Wei'a an admiring look. The man's senses were astonishingly keen. Chen Mu had no idea how he did it. Of all the experts Chen Mu had encountered, probably only the Devil Woman could rival Wei'a in that respect.
Clio seemed to notice the unspoken understanding between Wei'a and Chen Mu, but the bodyguard walking ahead remained completely oblivious.
Another dozen seconds passed before the bodyguard at the front noticed the commotion ahead. He perked up and shouted, "Young master, they're here!"
A look of relief flashed across Clio's face, then vanished. He showed little joy, merely giving a noncommittal "Oh."
With a rustle, a large group burst out of the bushes ahead. Every face lit up with excitement at the sight of Clio.
"Young master!" "Young Master Clio!" "You're all right! Thank goodness!" For a moment, the scene dissolved into confusion.
"Where's Lisbon?" Clio asked darkly.
"Young master..." A short man emerged from the crowd, his mung-bean-sized eyes darting about. A flash of terror crossed his face before he immediately patted his chest, looking utterly overcome. "Wonderful! Wonderful! Young master, you're safe! You nearly scared Lisbon to death!"
Clio regarded Lisbon with a faint, ambiguous smile. "Excellent, excellent. What timely help. You've certainly earned yourself plenty of credit, Lisbon."
The crowd immediately fell silent. Some looked bewildered, while others seemed thoughtful.
Beads of sweat kept seeping out. Looking flustered, Lisbon repeatedly wiped his forehead and said fearfully, "Please don't be angry, young master. Please don't be angry. On the way, I ran into..."
