When Chen Mu woke, the wind rushing toward him poured into his nose and mouth, choking him uncomfortably. He remained dazed for quite a while before realizing Wei'a was carrying him. His entire body ached unbearably. Never mind turning his neck-he did not even have the strength to lift a finger.
But...
He could not help glancing at Madam Faya, locked tightly in his arms. Delight immediately welled up inside him. Overall, this venture had been quite a success. Although he and Wei'a were both in a rather sorry state, and his whole body still ached, his spirits felt much lighter. Both his arms had gone completely numb, as though welded shut. Fortunately, that meant Chen Mu did not have to worry about losing his grip when his strength failed.
"Wei'a, are you all right?" Chen Mu suddenly recalled the battered state he had seen Wei'a in earlier. His neck had stiffened completely, making even the normally effortless act of turning his head extraordinarily difficult, so he could not see Wei'a behind him.
"Mm." Wei'a sounded no different from usual, and only then did Chen Mu relax.
