The vast, hollow interior of the mountain contained an enormous cavern, several thousand feet across. Purple-black marks covered its walls. At its very center lay long, finger-thick strands resembling golden hay, giving off exceptionally intense fluctuations of spiritual qi. Waves of golden light radiated from them. These golden strands had been wound into ring upon ring, forming a gigantic bird's nest hundreds of feet across.
Above the cavern was an immense opening several miles wide. Sunlight poured straight down through it, illuminating the straw-like nest!
Countless motes of golden light danced within the nest. Three identical, enormous dragon eggs lay there, exuding waves of astonishing aura, with even a faint, uncanny hint of draconic might! Zhang Hong's physical body, clad in the Vast-Heaven Treasure Armor, lay off to one side.
"Tsk, tsk! They really are dragon eggs!" Li Xiaoya said excitedly. Earlier, he had used his divine sense to guide Zhang Hong's physical body into this cavern merely to evade the Earth Demon Dragon and keep her from getting hurt. Yet as he guided her inside, he had discovered an astonishing concentration of spiritual qi. Only then had he noticed the dragon eggs in the cavern. Naturally, he had told no one else.
With his divine sense, he could easily have guided Zhang Hong's physical body back out, but he had not done so. In truth, it had all been for these dragon eggs!
