"Haa!" Li Xiaoya roared. With the Fire Dragon Sword in one hand and the Blazing Fire Spirit Blade in the other, he whirled both weapons, blocking every incoming spear in a few strokes. He charged out, leaped clear of the passage, and descended toward the plaza flooded with Mechanism Beast Guards.
"Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh, whoosh!" While Li Xiaoya was still airborne, every Mechanism Beast within range in the plaza below shifted their aim and hurled their spears at him. A black mass of spears shot toward him, their shrill whistles tearing through the air in a terrifying barrage.
"Hah!" Li Xiaoya roared, abruptly checking his movement in midair before plunging toward the ground several times faster. Just as the spears filling the sky suddenly accelerated, he accelerated too, narrowly evading every attack. All the spears missed and struck the wall behind him with a clattering clang.
Apparently, Li Xiaoya had calculated that move in advance. It had been a fright, but no real danger.
"Go!" He Jin leaped down after Li Xiaoya. The golden Artifact Spirit he had released flashed forward, placing himself directly in front of He Jin.
Few Mechanism Beasts attacked him, however, because Li Xiaoya had drawn all their attention. Li Xiaoya landed hard on a Mechanism Beast, crushing the beast to pieces beneath his feet.
"Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh, whoosh!" The moment Li Xiaoya landed, the surrounding Mechanism Beasts unleashed their second wave of attacks, all aimed at him.
"Boom!" Li Xiaoya stamped one foot hard against the ground. Red light blazed around him, and a broad ring of flame burst outward-the Fire Ring Technique. The surrounding Mechanism Beasts were blasted away, crashing into the beasts behind them. In an instant, not a single Mechanism Beast remained within thirty or forty feet of him.
