Peerless Tang Sect, outside the gates of Shrek Academy!
"I actually transmigrated into Wang Dong from Peerless Tang Sect?"
"And awakened the Soft Bone Rabbit martial soul and Clear Sky Hammer Martial Soul... plus the Golden Dragon King Bloodline!"
A handsome boy with long pinkish-blue hair stood rooted to the spot, his blue eyes wide and round, "holy shit" written all over his face.
Wang Dong took a deep breath. The images from the final moments before his transmigration still lingered in his mind. While scrolling through short videos, he had come across a post:
[If you could transmigrate into the world of Peerless Tang Sect and become Wang Dong, which three of the following six Tang Family martial souls would you choose?]
[Blue Silver Emperor] [Clear Sky Hammer] [Golden Dragon King Bloodline] [Soft Bone Rabbit] [Light Goddess Butterfly] [Sea God]
As a longtime Douluo fan, he had chosen 2, 3, and 4 without a second thought.
Blue Silver Emperor? What kind of trash martial soul was that? He wasn't familiar with it at all, okay? Stuff like using Blue Silver Entanglement-that stuff clinging to the ground was the hardest to peel off, soft and clingy, relying entirely on dragging fights out, without any explosive power.
As for the Light Goddess Butterfly martial soul, that was just another roadside nobody. What good was flying early on? It couldn't compare to the Soft Bone Rabbit martial soul at all.
The Soft Bone Rabbit martial soul was the truly underhanded one, overlooked by so many people. Instantaneous Shift, Intangibility, Invincible Golden Body-each was more broken than the last.
What did Instantaneous Shift mean? You had barely raised your hand before they were right in your face. Intangibility was even more ridiculous: physical attacks passed straight through, like punching air.
And Invincible Golden Body needed no explanation. A real man for three seconds, standing his ground and smashing through everything.
As for the Sea God Martial Soul? That fell even further short of the bloodline of the Golden Dragon King, a God King.
However awesome the Sea God was, that still came from the blessing of a divine seat. The Golden Dragon King Bloodline was a genuine God King-level bloodline, crushing everything in strength, physique, and recovery.
The power of the Golden Dragon King Bloodline, plus the Soft Bone Rabbit's stats, plus the Clear Sky Hammer's Disorder Splitting Wind Hammer-that was the true answer to the current meta.
"Thank goodness, thank goodness... I really do seem to be male. A male Wang Dong?"
Wang Dong quickly accepted the reality of his transmigration. He carefully checked his current condition. Unlike the girl disguised as a boy in the original story, he was a genuine, bona fide man.
After all, that dangling feeling was pretty hard to imitate. He looked down. Yep, confirmed: everything that should be there was there, and nothing that shouldn't be there was.
But now came the problem. If he had transmigrated into a male Wang Dong, then what had happened to the other protagonist of Peerless Tang Sect...?
As Wang Dong pondered this, he suddenly caught sight of a figure out of the corner of his eye.
A girl was walking toward the gates of Shrek Academy. She looked somewhat frail, with a slender figure and delicate features. She wasn't breathtaking at first glance, but her eyes were bright, like two pieces of water-washed obsidian, so dazzling that it was hard to look away.
There was a stubbornness in her gaze, her lips pressed lightly together as though she were holding something in.
She wore old clothes washed pale and carried a bulging cloth bag. She looked travel-worn, as though she had walked a very long way to get here.
"So this is Shrek Academy? I really made it..."
The girl stood outside the academy, looking up at its imposing gates, her voice trembling slightly.
Just then, a voice rang out in her mind, carrying a lazy, smug air:
"Yuhao, you'd better work hard... I've entrusted my entire fortune and life to you. Hurry up and reach two rings, then just watch how your big brother Tian Meng takes you soaring."
"Mm-hmm!"
Huo Yuhao nodded vigorously and clenched her fists. She would work hard... because she still had a great vengeance to exact.
White Tiger Duke's Mansion, just you wait!
She took a deep breath and was about to step inside when her gaze happened to sweep over a figure nearby.
It was a boy, his long pinkish-blue hair falling loosely over his shoulders, his blue eyes clear and deep. His face was almost excessively handsome, his figure tall and slender. Standing there, he looked like a painting.
The boy was staring straight at her, as though he had seen something unbelievable.
Huo Yuhao felt a little uncomfortable under his gaze, but she still worked up the courage to approach him and politely asked, "Hello, senior. My name is Huo Yuhao. I'm a new student this year... Could you tell me where the new student registration office is?"
Wang Dong was completely beside himself.
He stared fixedly at the Huo Yuhao before him-or rather, "Little Miss Huo."
Sure enough, since he had become male, Huo Yuhao had naturally become female. What was this? A balance of yin and yang?
But that wasn't the point. The point was that this "Little Miss Huo" was far too pretty. Those features, that air about her, that frail yet fiercely stubborn look... she really struck him right in the heart.
Especially those timid eyes, which made him want to protect her.
Really, nobody could resist a sweet-smelling, soft little Miss Huo.
Wang Dong gave her a gentle, harmless smile:
"I'm a new student too. I only just arrived. But I saw the registration office over there when I passed by earlier. I'll take you."
Huo Yuhao froze for a moment, not expecting him to be so accommodating. "Then... thank you, senior."
"Don't call me senior. My name is Wang Dong." Wang Dong waved a hand. "Let's go. I need to finish the rest of my paperwork anyway."
Nothing happened along the way. There were quite a few people at the new student registration office. The two queued for a while, filled out a few forms, then went to have their soul power tested.
After bustling about for quite some time, they finally finished all the procedures.
Grrr!
Just then, Huo Yuhao's stomach growled.
Her face instantly flushed scarlet. She hurriedly pressed her hands against her stomach and lowered her head, not daring to look at Wang Dong. "Um... I-I left in a hurry this morning and didn't have time to eat..."
Wang Dong was amused inside, but kept a perfectly serious face. "Come on. I'll buy you a meal."
"No, no!" Huo Yuhao waved her hands repeatedly. "I brought dry rations..."
As she spoke, she took a dried-out flatbread from her cloth bag and awkwardly bit into it. The flatbread looked hard, as though it had been sitting around for several days. She struggled to bite through it, but still did her best to chew.
Watching this, Wang Dong felt an inexplicable pang in his heart.
He sighed. Without another word, he stepped forward, grabbed Huo Yuhao's wrist, and pulled her toward the dining hall.
"Huh? Senior Wang Dong? You..."
"Don't argue." Wang Dong didn't look back, his tone carrying an overbearing insistence that brooked no refusal. "Come to the dining hall with me."
Unable to pull free, Huo Yuhao could only stumble along behind him. She grew anxious. "But... but it's too expensive. We've only just met. I can't..."
"I have plenty of money," Wang Dong interrupted lightly. "Besides, my favorite thing to do is cut down the strong and help the weak. You're a girl who's traveled all this way to study at Shrek, and you can't even get a meal. I can't stand seeing that."
He paused, then added, "Besides... I have a younger sister who looks a lot like you. Seeing you today just felt especially familiar."
That was made up, of course. Wang Dong didn't have any younger sister; even his own parents were part of this transmigration.
But he sounded so sincere, with a trace of nostalgia and tenderness in his voice, that Huo Yuhao's heart trembled.
She looked up at Wang Dong's profile. Sunlight fell on his long pinkish-blue hair, gilding it with a faint halo. This boy she had known for less than two hours had given her a warmth she hadn't felt in a long time.
"Then... thank you," Huo Yuhao said softly, her voice a little nasal.
Wang Dong didn't turn around, but the corners of his mouth quietly lifted.
In the dining hall, Wang Dong ordered two of the most expensive set meals and pushed one in front of Huo Yuhao. "Eat."
Huo Yuhao looked at the lavish meal before her: braised soul beast meat, stir-fried spirit vegetables, a steaming bowl of spirit rice porridge, and a plate of delicate little pastries.
She swallowed, but still hesitated, not daring to pick up her chopsticks:
"This... this is too expensive. Senior Wang Dong, I really can't..."
"I told you, I have plenty of money." Wang Dong sat across from her with his arms folded, looking as though he would brook no argument. "Just eat. Don't think so much."
Huo Yuhao bit her lip, her eyes reddening slightly. In all her life, nobody had ever treated her this well.
"Thank you..." Her voice caught. "Thank you so much."
She lowered her head, picked up her chopsticks, and began eating in small bites. At first she was still a little reserved, but she was simply too hungry. Gradually, she relaxed, eating carefully and finishing everything, leaving not even the broth at the bottom of the bowl.
Wang Dong simply sat across from her, quietly watching her eat, watching her frail shoulders, her lowered eyes, and the way she ate every last grain of rice.
This girl really was starving.
P.S. How should I put it? This book is pure wish fulfillment. No taking losses...
How strong would the Clear Sky Hammer, Soft Bone Rabbit, and Golden Dragon King be together? A lot of people really are curious, so I wrote it.
No trashy nonsense, and no giving girls away.
