Background

Huo Yuhao grew up as an illegitimate child in the White Tiger Duke’s Mansion, where she endured neglect and bullying. Her mother died young, and her father never treated her with affection. Dai Huabin, whom she regards as her older brother, repeatedly suppressed her throughout childhood 2 16 20.

She arrives at Shrek Academy determined to become stronger and exact revenge on the mansion. Her poverty is evident in her faded clothing, travel-worn belongings, and thin, fraying quilt. Tian Meng is already present within her mind and urges her to reach two soul rings 1 2.

Appearance

Huo Yuhao initially has a frail build and a timid but stubborn expression; improved nutrition and cultivation later leave her visibly healthier 1 17.

Her gratitude is matched by a desire for independence. She sells grilled fish rather than continually relying on Wang Dong’s money and later earns income by making soul tools. Mu En specifically praises her perseverance and willingness to repay kindness 10 17 25.

Although shy and easily embarrassed by affection, she becomes fiercely loyal to Wang Dong. Her growing attachment includes jealousy when Xiao Xiao jokes about pursuing him, a willingness to leave Shrek alongside him, and a determination to become strong enough to protect him 14 23 28.

Huo Yuhao meets Wang Dong while asking for directions to registration. He helps her enroll, buys her a meal, and later replaces her inadequate quilt. When Dai Huabin humiliates her in class, Wang Dong openly declares her his friend and intervenes 1 2 5.

Their attempt at martial soul fusion succeeds, creating Haodong Power. Wang Yan confirms their perfect compatibility, and they establish regular joint cultivation while Huo Yuhao continues selling grilled fish 9 10 15.

Freshman Assessment

After three months of training, Huo Yuhao joins Wang Dong and Xiao Xiao’s assessment team. Her Spiritual Detection Sharing helps Wang Dong exploit Dai Huabin’s openings, giving her a new sense that she can contribute rather than merely receive protection. The team goes on to win the championship 17 19 20 21.

Core-Disciple Dispute

Despite the championship, Shrek grants Huo Yuhao only temporary core-disciple privileges because of her low soul power and apparently weak soul ring. Wang Dong publicly challenges the decision and threatens to withdraw; Huo Yuhao chooses to stand beside him 22 23.

Mu En intervenes, makes her an official core disciple, and accepts both students as personal disciples. He asks them to help reform Shrek and begins providing individualized instruction 24 25.

Ma Xiaotao’s Evil Fire

Ma Xiaotao seizes Huo Yuhao to absorb her faint ice aura, exposing her to dangerous heat. Wang Dong separates them and ultimately collapses after Ma Xiaotao consumes his blood. Huo Yuhao tends him during his two-day unconsciousness and is overcome with relief when he wakes 26 27.

Afterward, Yan Shaozhe approves Wang Dong’s request for shared accommodation with Huo Yuhao, making an exception to support their Haodong Power cultivation 27.

Far North Journey and Return

Upon reaching level twenty, Huo Yuhao declines Xuan Zi’s hunting assistance and travels to the Far North under Tian Meng’s guidance. She seeks a second martial soul so she can fight beside Wang Dong rather than remain behind him 28.

She returns with the Ice Jade Emperor Scorpion and defeats Dai Huabin when he attacks her. The apparent Hundred Thousand Year Soul Ring she displays prompts an academy inquiry, during which she explains her use of Simulation. Her twin martial souls and Ultimate Ice earn renewed recognition from the academy’s leadership 39 40 41.
