White Fox Anbu picked up the scroll with trembling hands. Prominently stamped on it was the gold seal of special authorization from the Land of Fire's Daimyo's Internal Affairs Ministry.
"An inventory of assets reserved exclusively for repayment to the Daimyo's Residence."
Chikage spoke slowly and deliberately.
"Root owes the Daimyo's Residence three hundred million ryo. Everything in its former headquarters is an asset seized by the Daimyo's Residence to cover that debt."
"You Anbu came to the Konoha Military Police Force to steal the Daimyo's Residence's assets. What's this? Does Hiruzen want to follow Danzo's example and rebel against the Daimyo too?"
"Robbery of royal property. Article 120 of the Land of Fire's criminal code: immediate execution by beheading, with the offender's three familial lines put to death as well."
"Do you need me to fetch Finance Officer Uchida and the diplomatic missions from the other villages right now, so they can verify your Anbu's robbery in person?"
