Their long rest ultimately proved no match for the endless bombardment of distress signals. Evan simply could not take that mountain of "battle reports" anymore.

There were too many distress signals, and they were a complete mess.

The Imperium seemed to be planning something big, apparently a strategy to lure the enemy deep into its territory.

Countless worlds reported encounters with enemies, but these did not seem to be deliberate invasions. The enemies appeared to be passing through while pursuing retreating Imperial forces.
