Facing an assault by over sixty Chaos Warriors, the Beiwei Army did not tighten its formation. Instead, it marched outward in perfect unison.
The Land Raider stood at the center, with a ring of adamantium-armoured warriors slowly advancing around it.
Against a cavalry charge, infantry would clearly fare better in a tight formation. But were they infantry? They counted as tanks.
Anti-psyker power dispersed the Slaaneshi mist within five metres of the warriors. For the Beiwei Army, fellow White Scars veterans, that was enough room to react.
The Desire Steeds refused to charge, a rare occurrence. The Chaos Warriors urged their mounts on, swinging long whips made from the sinews of unknown beasts and lashing their horses' rumps.
The Desire Steeds did not advance. They merely cried out with greater delight.
Seeing that their leader, Agura, had already charged, the Warband's traitors had no choice but to resort to secret methods. Every Chaos Warrior had his own unique way of communicating with the daemon beneath him.
The lilting notes of a White Scars bone flute rang out. Slaanesh's subtle adjustments to the melody had made it a potent tool for controlling Slaaneshi Daemons. The difference was that this traitor was not blowing a flute, but an intricately hollowed-out tooth.
A Word Bearer murmured evil incantations. The ritual scars on the Desire Steeds grew searing hot, and the daemons galloped forward in pain.
Agura still charged straight at Evan. Among these mechanical Big Bosses, even larger than Terminators, only Evan appeared relatively "scrawny."
Evan advanced slowly. The area around him was clearer still, with Slaanesh's mist retreating dozens of metres.
Black shadows could vaguely be seen dancing within the weapon. The Chaos Sorcery was completed instantly, and a rune
