The Ice-Rune Armour stopped releasing its Domain of Ice, and Leman Russ lost that comforting chill. But Angron could no longer block his heavy blows with ease.

Gripping the Dionysian Spear in both hands, the Wolf King swung with all his strength. Its blade cleaved straight through the bloody steam surrounding Angron, driving the Daemon Primarch, who held his axe in one hand, a step backward.

The Red Angel immediately flew into a rage. In his mind, that backward step seemed to be an act of cowardice, and the Blood God would never favor a coward.

His fury began to manifest across his body. Crimson flames burned over more and more of his skin, completely suppressing the Domain of Ice now that its source was gone.

The frost lingering between the stones gradually melted. Only the corpses inside the Adamantium Armor remained frozen. Cold could seep through shattered Tactical Visors, but Khorne's blessings could not.

The armory held plenty of explosive weapons, which were gradually being corrupted by the Blood God's scorching waves of heat. Unfortunately, some pure machine spirits held out until their weapons reached the temperature threshold for detonation.

A violent chain of explosions began. Although the warriors in the Imperial fortress had stored their explosives separately to prevent one ammunition detonation from reaching more distant stores, the Adeptus Custodes' special bolts continued flying after missing their targets, and striking distant warehouses could cause explosions all the same.

The Adamantium Warriors could no longer maintain their formation. Some fell through the floor as it shattered beneath them, while others were struck by debris, the violent tremors and impacts killing the warriors inside.

Shock waves blasted the surrounding walls apart. The Wolf King nimbly leaped across great chunks of flying debris and easily landed on a slanted ceramite wall.
