The Vox system suddenly fell silent.
But a moment later, another voice joined the channel.
"Colonel Praetis of the Cadian 338th stands with you. Cadia stands!"
Immediately afterward, another voice joined in.
"Arkade, captain of the Black Pilgrim, stands with you."
"The Abel 4th Regiment stands with you."
"The Luna Wolves' 18th Company stands with you."
"The Cabalide 1st Regiment stands with you."
Voice after voice rang out, growing impassioned and clamorous.
Bona looked up and saw Horus, Perturabo, and every staff officer present watching him.
"Afraid to die?" he asked.
Perturabo laughed and smashed his control console with a punch.
"Who are you insulting, idiot?"
"Would someone who's already died still fear death?" Horus picked up his Lightning Claws as well.
Every staff officer drew a pistol in unison.
All the humans rushed toward the nearest transport, from small transport ships to enormous navy battleships, then hurtled recklessly toward the distant Ancient Ship.
The Tyranid Swarm failed to react in time. Most of its fleet had already crashed onto the surface and become ground assault forces, leaving much of the void empty.
Several Ork Warbosses who had seen things going wrong and were preparing to slip away also stared dumbfounded as the humans charged like madmen.
Kakka Ironhammer watched the flagship leading the charge. That was the humie boss's ship.
He looked down at the boyz gathered beneath his throne. They were all watching him.
"These humies got guts."
"Boyz, we Orks can't be more cowardly than those humie gits!"
"Turn around! I'm gonna get ahead of 'em!"
The Orks turned their junk fleet around. The reckless Mekboyz ignited every rocket, causing several unstable ships to explode outright in the void.
The Great Devourer suddenly panicked. In its memory, no one had ever ruled humanity with such unifying power.
