As an unremarkable barge docked in the port, several Rhinos bearing the Ultramarines insignia slowly rolled out and onto the transport tracks nearby.
It looked like nothing more than a routine supply run, but only the keenest experts would notice that the seemingly ordinary Ultramarines patrols had all turned their attention toward those transports.
In the shadows, agents of the Inquisition, the Officio Assassinorum, and even the Aeldari were quietly watching everything around them.
Once the freight train delivered its military supplies to the platform, the Rhinos did not follow the regular cargo to the supply depot. Instead, they headed toward a warehouse nearby.
The supply depot appeared to be guarded by ordinary troops, but those Astra Militarum soldiers were actually the Inquisition's most elite Schola Progenium Storm Troopers. They were merely wearing Astra Militarum equipment.
The sergeant at the front was an Ultramarines Scout. He had not yet undergone skeletal augmentation and looked little different from a mortal.
After conducting an inspection, the sergeant signed off through the usual procedures and let them through.
The Rhinos entered the warehouse and stopped amid mountains upon mountains of Leman Russ tanks, then shut down their engines. The warehouse returned to its usual darkness.
In that darkness, however, came the distinctive sound of Space Marine magnetic boots.
Several towering figures entered the warehouse, the red glow of their tactical eyepieces providing the only light.
Chapter Master Calgar approached one of the Rhinos and knocked rhythmically on its hatch.
After three knocks answered from within, the Rhino's hatch opened.
Inside, Guilliman sat in the cramped transport, looking at Calgar, with Sicarius and Agemman guarding him.
Once they had confirmed that the surroundings were secure, Guilliman emerged from the cramped Rhino and could finally stand upright.
