"We must go." Karen finally spoke, his voice hoarse but resolute. "Huron is right. We go for honour, to uphold our oath!"

Karen's words reflected what many of the warriors felt. They had long since lost faith in the Imperium's leadership, and Huron's rallying cry had ignited the anger they had suppressed for so long.

Phoros remained silent, looking at Saul, the young man who always brought hope in their darkest moments.

Saul met the Chapter Master's gaze and stepped forward.

"We go."

His words surprised everyone. They had expected Saul, always the voice of reason, to object.

"But," Saul continued, changing tack, his voice ringing through the entire bridge with absolute clarity and conviction, "Company Captain Karen is only half right. We aren't going to help Huron fight this damned civil war, much less support his nonsense about building a new Imperium."

He swept his razor-sharp gaze over all his brothers. "We go to fulfil our true oath-the oath to protect the innocent, bestowed upon us by the Primarch himself when our Chapter was founded! We go to protect the billions of mortals in the Maelstrom region from the war these scheming politicians and ambitious men have unleashed!"

Saul walked to the holographic star map and pointed at the countless civilian worlds trembling between the Imperial Army and Huron's allied forces.

"Huron wants a sharp sword to cut down his enemies. But that is not what we are. We are the Sons of Sorrow. We are the sons of Sanguinius. We are a shield!"

His voice suddenly rose, resounding like a great bronze bell.

"A shield protecting the Imperium's innocent citizens! That is where our true honour lies!"

Saul's words rang like a wake-up call, piercing through their confusion. In an instant, they dispelled the hatred and uncertainty hanging
