On the bridge of the Mother of Tears, everyone was stunned by this act of madness. They had anticipated bombardment, anticipated a raid, but they had never imagined that the enemy would begin a battle between Astartes in such a primitive, reckless way.
"All hands, brace for impact!" The Chapter Master's hoarse voice echoed through the bridge.
"Chapter Master, we cannot sit here and wait to die!" Saul spun around and looked his commander straight in the eye. "Requesting permission for the Second Company to launch an attack."
"Denied!" The Chapter Master's voice was filled with anguish and grim resolve. "Saul, hold your post! That is an order!"
To the Chapter Master, launching an attack was no different from admitting to treason.
Just then-
BOOOOM!!!!!
A deafening crash that could rupture eardrums and shatter souls!
The Bronze Bull's savage bull-headed ram easily tore through the armour along the Mother of Tears' flank. Countless metal fragments sprayed out like a torrential downpour, and the immense impact sent the entire flagship tilting violently. On the bridge, consoles spat showers of sparks. The red glow of emergency lighting and shrill alarms instantly overwhelmed everything else.
At the moment of impact, over a hundred boarding conduits on both sides of the Bronze Bull stabbed viciously into the Mother of Tears' wound like the fangs of venomous snakes. Heavy airtight doors were blasted open, and a tide of roaring Minotaur warriors charged inside.
The boarding action had begun.
It was a slaughter devoid of honour.
The Minotaur warriors fought with sickening cruelty and efficiency. They ignored areas flashing with red warning lights, where catastrophic explosions could occur at any moment. They cared nothing for tactical objectives. Their sole purpose was to kill every living creature in yellow Power Armour that entered their sight.
