It was a simple yet grand ambition.
Over the days that followed, the "Nurgling Gang" snowballed in size.
The "Boss," Liu Zhipeng, put every scrap of management experience from his previous life as a corporate drone to work. He knew full well that keeping an organization stable required clear rules and a division of responsibilities.
He assigned the Nurglings simple roles based on their different traits.
The biggest, strongest, and best fighters formed the "Enforcer Squad." Their job was to protect the group and, when necessary, "persuade" their less cooperative kin.
Those with the keenest noses and the greatest knack for finding food formed the "Logistics Squad." Their daily task was to roam the Garden of Nurgle, searching for fresh mushrooms, juicy rotten fruit, or anything else edible.
Those like Boji, who were a little quicker on the uptake, became the squads' "captains," responsible for passing along the "Boss's" orders.
The "Boss" also established a rudimentary system of "contribution points."
Whenever they found food, the members of the "Logistics Squad" who discovered it received the largest share. The "Enforcer Squad," responsible for protection and transport, also received a generous portion, while "management" like him took only the small amount needed to sustain themselves.
This system of "distribution according to work" greatly fired up the Nurglings' enthusiasm. They went from a bunch of lazy little daemons who knew nothing but playing and roughhousing to a group of organized, goal-oriented "model employees."
Wherever the "Nurgling Gang" went, not a blade of grass remained... no, rather, everything edible was swept clean. Their efficiency left the other solitary Nurglings in the Garden of Nurgle awestruck.
Soon, more Nurglings came seeking them out, hoping to join this exemplary group where "you could eat your fill at every meal."
The "Boss" welcomed everyone, but every new member had to pass a test-taking part in a "team-building activity."
These "team-building activities" usually involved working together to topple an enormous rotting tree or pollute a clear stream.
These activities not only strengthened the team's cohesion but also helped new members fit in quickly. More importantly, the activities themselves aligned perfectly with Nurgle's "way." Every successful act of "pollution" allowed the participating Nurglings to feel the "Plague Father's" pleasure and blessings, making their bodies stronger as well.
And so, through something approaching "modern management," the "Boss," Liu Zhipeng, established an orderly Nurgling kingdom in the heart of Chaos.
He had not realized that his act of "establishing order" was fundamentally at odds with "Chaos." Yet strangely enough, the ultimate purpose of the order he had created was to produce and spread Chaos more efficiently-Nurgle's brand of Chaos.
This contradictory yet harmonious behavior caught the attention of a certain being deep within the Garden of Nurgle.
But at that moment, Liu Zhipeng was still basking in the joy of his "successful startup."
He was no longer Liu Zhipeng, the corporate drone who had to worry about making a living. He was the "Boss," the leader of hundreds of Nurglings, the undisputed king of this region.
His daily work consisted of reclining on the softest patch of fungal carpet, directing his underlings to find delicious food, and occasionally organizing some team-building. His life was countless times cushier than it had been before.
However, as a Warhammer fan with a troublemaker's thirst for entertainment running through his veins, merely having enough to eat and drink was nowhere near enough.
Comfortable as Nurgle's Garden was, staying there too long inevitably grew a little boring.
And excitement soon arrived.
That day, the whole of Nurgle's Garden began to shake. An immense rift appeared in the sky, its far side a sea of red filled with blood and fire. Endless roars of rage and slaughter poured through the rift, making the very air throughout the Garden of Nurgle seethe with agitation.
It was Khorne, the Blood God, Nurgle's sworn enemy.
A great war that would engulf the entire Warp was about to begin.
All the daemons in Nurgle's Garden began to muster. Enormous Great Unclean Ones of Nurgle brandished rusty Plague Swords and let out grandfatherly laughter; hordes of Plaguebearers rode rotting mounts, taking a tally of their respective legions; countless Plague Drones blotted out the sky like dark clouds.
Nurglings like Liu Zhipeng, meanwhile, were the lowest ranks of cannon fodder in this war. They would be thrown onto the battlefield by the thousands, using their bodies to expend the enemy's ammunition and their deaths to spread the Plague Father's plagues.
Once the order to muster was issued, all the Nurglings howled excitedly, ready to welcome this grand "game."
But Liu Zhipeng felt a sense of danger unlike anything he had experienced before.
He did not want to die pointlessly on a battlefield. He did not want to become a meaningless casualty statistic.
At the same time, however, he saw a glimmer of opportunity.
A war on such a scale would inevitably shatter the existing order and create new opportunities. If he could accomplish something "earth-shattering" during this war, something that even Nurgle himself would notice, might he be able to escape this lowly Nurgling shell and gain greater status and power?
He turned his gaze toward the roaring daemons from Khorne's Realm.
Khorne embodied rage, slaughter, and honor. His followers and daemons were simple-minded warmongers who revered valiant warriors and despised all scheming and cowardice.
Nurgle embodied decay and despair, but also rebirth and resilience. His followers and daemons delighted in spreading plagues and enduring suffering, savoring the endless cycle of life amid rot.
These two dark gods were fundamentally at odds.
How could he survive the Blood God's wrath while inflicting the greatest possible "insult" on his forces?
As Liu Zhipeng looked at the chattering Nurglings under his command, utterly oblivious to their impending deaths, a brilliant plan full of wicked humor took shape in his mind.
He would show the entire universe that even the lowliest Nurgling could make the lofty Blood God so furious that his Skull Throne began to shake.
In this bloody war, he would stage the grandest, most disgusting piece of performance art.
The horn of bloody war resounded through the Warp, a roar unleashed by countless billions of souls in the utmost rage and agony. The sky turned blood-red, the earth trembled, and the Garden of Nurgle and Khorne's Realm, those two eternal sworn enemies, collided violently within the dominion of Chaos.
