But he had no time to admire any of it. His objective was clear: the C'tan Shards.
At last, he reached the deepest part of the exhibition hall.
There, he saw a special display area.
Layers of energy shields surrounded it, their strength far exceeding those protecting any other exhibit. At the center of the shields stood seven exquisite crystal display stands.
Each stand held a C'tan Shard.
Liu Zhipeng's breath caught for a moment.
Every shard radiated terrifying pulses of energy. They had been shaped into various forms: some were spheres, some polyhedrons, and others irregular crystals. But whatever their shape, they all glowed.
The first shard emitted an eerie purple light. Liu Zhipeng could sense the essence of lies and deception within it.
"A shard of the Deceiver," he murmured.
The second shard was pitch-black, seemingly capable of absorbing all the light around it. It was the embodiment of darkness and nothingness.
"A shard of the Nightbringer."
The third shard burned with golden-red flames. Those flames held an urge to destroy everything.
"A shard of the Star-Burner."
The fourth shard...
The fifth shard...
Liu Zhipeng identified the shards one by one. The more he examined them, the more shocked he became.
Trazyn actually had seven shards of high-ranking C'tan in his collection! Out in the wider galaxy, any one of them could spark an interstellar war!
Yet here they lay quietly on their display stands, like expensive works of art.
"Old Trazyn, you're a real lunatic," Liu Zhipeng said with heartfelt admiration. "Still... don't mind if I help myself to these treasures."
He walked toward the display stands.
But the instant he approached, every shield activated at once.
