Chapters 76–100 Vol. 1 Read

Ch. 76Eerie Atmosphere

Wang Yan and Ye Shisan explored Firecloud Market and confirmed that Huā Tiánlíng and Situ Lou Lou were recruiting Cultivation Realm cultivators on sect assignments. After a suspicious trader hinted that newcomers were coming to their deaths, Wang Yan offered him Spirit Stones for information and agreed to hear what he knew.

  • Wang Yan explained that the recruitment token was unnecessary because Huā Tiánlíng and Situ Lou Lou were using cultivators to complete their assignments, then sealed Ye Shisan’s acupoints again after warning him to cause less trouble.
  • Wang Yan and Ye Shisan toured Firecloud Market, where Wang Yan learned that the two recruiters had been sent by the Firecloud Sect and that Huā Tiánlíng had influential backing.
  • Wang Yan noticed Firecloud Sect disciples monitoring the market but found little information about recruitment or the Cloud Mountain Treasure Land.
  • A cloaked middle-aged cultivator offered Wang Yan and Ye Shisan cheap magic artifacts, then muttered that another pair was coming to their deaths.
  • Wang Yan stopped the cultivator and offered him twenty Spirit Stones for information, and the cultivator told him to follow so they could talk elsewhere.

Ch. 77Intelligence

Wang Yan learned that the great sects were recruiting cultivators to send them into the deadly Cloud Mountain Treasure Land, and he reluctantly agreed to let Ye Shisan join the Firecloud Sect with him. He and Card Fairy planned their preparations, and the pair left a Cultivator Market disguised in cloaks bearing Firecloud Sect emblems.

  • Wang Yan paid a middle-aged cultivator twenty Spirit Stones for information about the sects and the Cloud Mountain Treasure Land, then took Ye Shisan to a secluded spot.
  • Wang Yan told Ye Shisan that disciples from the Five Great Sects would have to hunt for treasure and fight one another in the Cloud Mountain Treasure Land, and he initially urged Ye Shisan not to join the Firecloud Sect.
  • Card Fairy reminded Wang Yan that Ye Shisan had exceptional aptitude, strength, and loyalty, so Wang Yan agreed they would join the Firecloud Sect together.
  • Wang Yan asked Ye Shisan to stand guard and discussed with Card Fairy the equipment, materials, and treasures they needed to prepare before the treasure land opened.
  • Wang Yan decided that selling some black mother iron ore could fund their preparations, then led Ye Shisan into a Cultivator Market.
  • Wang Yan and Ye Shisan emerged from the market wearing black cloaks with Firecloud Sect emblems.

Ch. 78Value

Wang Yan and Ye Shisan wore Firecloud Sect protection cloaks to sell Wang Yan’s black mother iron ore safely in Firecloud Market. An appraiser offered ten thousand Spirit Stones per jin, and Wang Yan revealed he had over a hundred jin before insisting the old man handle the deal himself.

  • Wang Yan explained to Ye Shisan that the cloaks protected them in Firecloud Market and led him into a large establishment to sell materials.
  • A female cultivator escorted Wang Yan to the appraisal room, where he entered alone and presented a piece of black mother iron ore.
  • The old appraiser examined the ore and offered ten thousand Spirit Stones per jin, while Card Fairy told Wang Yan the price was somewhat lower than expected.
  • Wang Yan revealed more than a dozen pieces weighing at least a hundred jin, startling the appraiser.
  • When the appraiser said he needed to call someone authorized, Wang Yan threatened to take the ore elsewhere, so the old man agreed to inspect it and take responsibility.

Ch. 79Armed from Head to Toe

Wang Yan sold black mother iron ore, earning a fortune, while the white-robed cultivator learned the ore could help him finish forging something important. Wang Yan then spent heavily at the Cultivator Market on equipment for Ye Shisan, who wondered why Wang Yan had bought so little for himself.

  • Situ Lou Lou delivered more than a hundred and twenty jin of black mother iron ore to the white-robed cultivator, who praised him and rewarded him and Elder Ning.
  • Situ Lou Lou considered searching for the cultivator who sold the ore but decided against it because his master had not ordered him to.
  • Wang Yan left with a fortune in Spirit Stones and persuaded Ye Shisan that selling his Black Mother Iron Rod had been worthwhile.
  • Wang Yan bought Ye Shisan an Earth Spirit Gold Staff, Earth God Armor, and Earth Gang Shield, along with several other treasures.
  • Wang Yan paid nearly a hundred thousand Spirit Stones for the purchases and several large-capacity Storage Bags, and Ye Shisan asked why he had not bought himself any Spirit Artifacts.

Ch. 80Joining the Sect

Wang Yan and Ye Shisan stocked up on pills and materials in Firecloud Market before deciding to join the Firecloud Sect for access to resources that Spirit Stones could not buy. They reached the sect’s branch hall and entered the registration office, while the cultivators following them turned away.

  • Wang Yan explained that he had no use for more Spirit Artifacts yet and that Ye Shisan needed defensive treasures to support his fighting style and protect him.
  • Wang Yan spent over a hundred thousand Spirit Stones buying materials, then reconsidered joining the sect when Ye Shisan pointed out how wealthy he was.
  • Card Fairy reminded Wang Yan that major sects reserved crucial cultivation resources for their members, convincing him that joining the Firecloud Sect was worthwhile.
  • Wang Yan and Ye Shisan changed back into their clothes and headed for the branch hall as several cultivators followed them through the market.
  • The followers withdrew when Wang Yan and Ye Shisan reached the Firecloud Sect’s branch hall, and the pair went through the registration door.

Ch. 81A Temporary Cave Abode

Wang Yan and Ye Shisan registered with the Firecloud Sect, received temporary rooms, and waited under strict rules for transport to Firecloud Divine Mountain. Wang Yan studied how to craft Fireball Spell Immortal Cards, but as the recruits headed to the Back Mountain, he recognized Huā Tiánlíng’s voice and realized trouble might follow.

  • Wang Yan and Ye Shisan registered without Summoning Order Talismans and received temporary Identity Tokens and basic rewards.
  • A female cultivator assigned each of them a room and explained that they must remain silent and wait for the sect’s flying vessel.
  • Wang Yan discussed his Spell Collection Cards with Card Fairy and decided to collect a Fire Trap spell and either Fire Fist or Fire Arrow, while Card Fairy urged him to craft Fireball Spell Immortal Cards.
  • Wang Yan stayed in his room for several days studying Fireball Spell Immortal Card crafting until the recruits were summoned to depart for Firecloud Divine Mountain.
  • Wang Yan and Ye Shisan joined the silent crowd heading to the Back Mountain, where Wang Yan recognized Huā Tiánlíng’s familiar voice asking why two people were missing.

Ch. 82Firecloud Boat

Wang Yan and Ye Shisan denied having Huā Tiánlíng's Summoning Order Talismans, and a Firecloud Sect cultivator stopped her from attacking them. The new disciples boarded the Firecloud Boat, where two women approached Wang Yan and Ye Shisan and asked to sit beside them.

  • Wang Yan and Ye Shisan pretended not to recognize Huā Tiánlíng's Summoning Order Talismans and said they would not join the Firecloud Sect.
  • Huā Tiánlíng unleashed her spiritual pressure, but a bearded Firecloud Sect cultivator persuaded her to stop and warned her about the consequences of her recruiting methods.
  • Huā Tiánlíng let slip that the new disciples were going to their deaths, prompting the gathered cultivators to question the sect.
  • A massive Firecloud Boat descended, and the bearded cultivator ordered everyone aboard; Wang Yan and Ye Shisan boarded first.
  • Wang Yan and Ye Shisan sat near the front of the cabin, and two women asked if they could sit there, startling Ye Shisan.

Ch. 83Twin Beauties

Wang Yan and Ye Shisan met twin female cultivators aboard the Firecloud Sect’s flying boat, where Young Master Lei tried to force the sisters to sit with him. Wang Yan helped them evade him, and the boat began its journey to the Firecloud Mountains as tensions remained unresolved.

  • Young Master Lei offered Wang Yan Spirit Stones to take his seat, then revealed he wanted the sisters, his relatives, to help him advance to the Core Condensation Realm.
  • Wang Yan accepted payment to give up his seat, then arranged new seats for himself, Ye Shisan, and the sisters, frustrating Young Master Lei.

  • The flying boat jolted and began rising.

Ch. 84Firecloud Divine Mountain

Wang Yan arrived at Firecloud Divine Mountain with the other new cultivators and learned that they were only provisional disciples. Their status depended on passing a trial, and one cultivator publicly asked whether it was Cloud Mountain Treasure Land.

  • The female Firecloud Sect disciples stopped Young Master Lei from causing trouble, and Wang Yan spent the flight studying while he and the others remained wary of him.
  • After several hours, the Firecloud Boat landed at the vast Firecloud Sect, where Wang Yan delayed disembarking until Young Master Lei had left the aisle.
  • Zhang Qiulang and Zhang Qiulin introduced themselves to Wang Yan and warned him that Young Master Lei would not let the earlier conflict go.
  • Wang Yan sensed the dense spiritual energy of Firecloud Divine Mountain as Lingyu gathered the newcomers and explained that they were provisional disciples until they passed a trial.
  • A cultivator asked whether the trial was Cloud Mountain Treasure Land, drawing every cultivator’s attention.

Ch. 85Sealing Spells

Lingyu revealed that the Firecloud Sect’s prospective disciples would face the dangerous Cloud Mountain Treasure Land alongside cultivators from the other four great sects, then confined them to Temporary Cave Abodes under strict rules. Wang Yan secured two fire spells for his Spell Collection Cards and returned to cultivation, while the Card Fairy warned him to keep the cards secret.

  • Lingyu announced the Cloud Mountain Treasure Land mission, promised rewards for survivors, and imposed strict rules forbidding the prospective disciples from leaving, contacting one another, or fighting.
  • Wang Yan and Ye Shisan received nearby Temporary Cave Abodes and agreed to cultivate and prepare separately for the months before the mission.
  • A Firecloud Sect disciple named Ziwu delivered Wang Yan three Fasting Pills, and Wang Yan offered him three intermediate spirit stones to cast fire spells.
  • Wang Yan sealed the Fire Blast Technique and Fire Fist Spell into two Spell Collection Cards, and Ziwu offered to report his formation skills in exchange for more money.
  • The Card Fairy cautioned Wang Yan that revealing his Immortal Cards could be dangerous, and Wang Yan decided to focus on cultivation.

Ch. 86Ready to Go

After more than four months of secluded cultivation, Wang Yan mastered the second layer of the Heart-Control Art and prepared his cards for the Cloud Mountain Treasure Land. As the provisional disciples boarded a Flying Boat to enter the treasure land, Wang Yan reunited with a much stronger Ye Shisan and encountered Young Master Lei.

  • Wang Yan completed a Fire Blast Card and spoke with the Card Fairy through spiritual sense after mastering the second layer of the Heart-Control Art.
  • During his seclusion, Wang Yan learned two spells through Spell Collection Cards, crafted a Fireball Spell Card and two Magic Artifact Fusion Cards, and assembled an arsenal of Immortal Cards.
  • A white-haired old man reported to the red-haired Ancestor that preparations for the Cloud Mountain Treasure Land were complete, but their chances were only twenty percent and the Purple Flame Sect was stronger.
  • After briefly cultivating his magic power, Wang Yan was summoned to enter the Cloud Mountain Treasure Land and discovered that Ye Shisan had grown taller and reached the peak of full completion of the cultivation realm.

Ch. 88Enemies on a narrow road

After the sects activated a random teleportation array, Wang Yan arrived in the treasure land with his companions and encountered Young Master Lei.

  • Wang Yan consulted Card Fairy, who explained that the treasure land’s restriction favored lower cultivation levels and that the ancient ruins were probably in its central region.
  • Wang Yan invited Zhang Qiulin and Zhang Qiulang to team up with him and Ye Shisan, while learning about the other sects competing to enter the treasure land.
