"Huh? Wait, what? What the hell did you just say? What do you mean the dam's been blown up?"
On the other end of the communicator, Batman's voice was still hoarse, but there was a clear note of anxiety in his tone.
"I've been tracking Bane this whole time, but just now, they seemed to receive a signal.
"After that, Bane abandoned all his hideouts, released the Experiments, and headed for Gotham Dam. He's setting off explosives there right now!"
Batman found it strange himself. Given Bane's levelheaded personality, he shouldn't have done anything so extreme. It was as though something had provoked him.
What a mystery. Whatever could have set him off?
"Huh?! What shape is the dam in now?"
To make money more efficiently, Zuo Ci had redeemed a map of Gotham a long time ago, so he knew exactly how important that dam was.
If the dam was blown up, at least two-thirds of Gotham City would be affected. Even if the flood didn't wipe the place off the map, it would still leave devastation everywhere.
Only now did he understand why the mission required him to prevent widespread damage to Gotham.
"It's holding up. The dam is extremely sturdy. There won't be any major problems for a while."
Wayne Enterprises had built the dam in the first place and handled most of its subsequent maintenance, so its overall construction quality was excellent. Even Bane couldn't blow it up in a short time.
"That's a relief. Go see if you can get the situation under control. I'll be right behind you."
After ending the call, Zuo Ci realized he couldn't afford to waste any more time. He immediately kicked Poison Ivy, who was beside him, beating up the Experiments to vent her anger.
"Quit playing around. We
