"Mom, I'm off to school."
As Zhou You stepped outside, he happened to see Tang Shiyin opening her door.
At the sight of Zhou You, some of the sleepiness faded from Tang Shiyin's eyes, and she perked up. "What a coincidence, Zhou You. Can we go to school together?"
Living alone, she felt lonely and frightened. Her neighbor happened to be a classmate who had helped her before, so this was a perfect chance to walk to school together.
"Sure."
Zhou You was rather reluctant. He actually liked going to school alone, emptying his mind along the way and letting his thoughts wander wherever they pleased. Having someone beside him made him uncomfortable and kept him from doing that.
But since Tang Shiyin had asked, he had no reason to refuse.
Tang Shiyin was easily embarrassed and didn't talk much. She kept her head down as she walked beside Zhou You, barely exchanging a couple of words with him.
She always stayed half a step behind him, trailing him like a little shadow.
Before they even reached the school gates, Tang Shiyin had attracted plenty of attention, which naturally extended to Zhou You.
Lian Yi felt rather pleased with herself. Walking beside a beauty like her, Zhou You would instinctively enjoy the feeling out of vanity, even if he hadn't been interested in her before.
That would bring their relationship a step closer.
As a Foundation Establishment cultivator, Lian Yi had excellent hearing. She heard the students whispering about her relationship with Zhou You.
"Didn't Tang Shiyin only just transfer here? Zhou You's already hooked up with her?"
